The AVerMedia Extremecap U3 captures from a camera, PC, or game console at 1080p and 60fps. Is this a decent replacement for Shadowplay or other video capture software solutions?

This one is defenetly an awesome motherboard for the price and it does support dual graphics card if you ever wish to go SLI or crossfire down the road (you never know..)

If you might want something cheaper but still good, won't support dual GPU but you save some $ (this BTW is basicaly the cheapest board available but it still has all the features one might want such as sata3, usb3 etc..):

The next boards that i'm gonna link support dual graphics and all the features one might wan't they are awesome to overclock the CPU they are basicaly what i would consider the sweet spot if you're not too tight on budget i would defenetly consider one of those two boards or the first MSI that i linked, anything above those is just icing on the cakes and are boards i wouldnt recommend you to get because motherboard won't affect performance and past this point it's only about support 3 or 4 GPU's and looks, so here we go:

My personnal pick if you could afford it would be the MSI Z97 Gaming 5...if you can't afford it my second choice would go to the Z97 G55 SLI.

Get an IPS panel, at least 1920x1080.  Size is your preference, most people like around 23-24".  It's also worth noting whether the monitor is glossy or matte (anti-glare).  Glossy usually has a bit more vibrant image but glare can cause issues depending on where you're set up.  Some monitors don't list this spec directly, but if they don't then you can usually do a Google image search of the monitor model and look at the pictures to tell whether it has an anti-glare coating or not.
 
Refresh rate is 60Hz on standard monitors, but some "gaming" monitors use 120Hz panels which gets you a smoother image IF you have a graphics card good enough to get very high framerates.  The current IPS panels on the market are also not capable of 120Hz, so if you went that route you would have to settle for a TN panel which gets you narrow viewing angles and more washed out colors.
 
Response time is basically a made-up number and can be ignored.  Many people will tell you you need x milliseconds or below for a good experience, but this is a myth.  As @helping said, it's a completely meaningless spec.
Dynamic contrast ratio is also a made-up number and can be ignored too.
