Bookhouse Boy's Achievements

  1. No, only my graphics card is overclocked. I've ran the OCCT tests for the full hour on cpu, on both vram and gpu for 30 minutes each, and 30 minutes for ram. All I know is that I've only gotten it to trigger with cpu associated things.
  2. I was able to replicate it with csgo by immediately booting it and loading into a map with bots. Nothing else was running and the cpu was at only 28°C. It's definitely looking more like a power problem the more I look into it.
  3. I've been having a problem with my PC for a month or two now. At a certain point, my computer emits a noticeable click and immediately reboots. I believe that it could be my CPU cooler because I had replaced it with the Noctua NH-D15 a week or so prior to the problem starting. It consistently has occured after about an hour of playing Forza: Horizon 4 and immediately when bots load in when loading in bots during a locally hosted match in CS:GO, and I haven't had it occur any other time using my computer. I assume that this has to be because of power draw by the CPU because it's happening in response to saving car modifications and significant vehicle collisions in regards to Forza, or more than a few bots spawning in regards to CS:GO. This never happens in graphics heavy/CPU light applications/games, so that's why I'm hesitant to assume that it is a PSU problem like suggested by an LTT discord member. If it is the PSU, then so be it.
  4. I can't believe this. All I needed to do to fix the problem was push in the cables on the back of the computer more firmly. I surely couldn't believe it when I did it. Instant success!
  5. I just installed a Noctua NH-D14 into my PC, and, even though the temps are maxing out below 50 consistently, every game I play also seems to experience persistent hickups that last a fraction of a second at most but EVERY second. It seems to be specifically effecting physics and not frame rate as that remains high all the time, so I must have messed something up when installing the cooler. What specifically would cause a problem like this?
  6. Cool, the bad stuff is happening again with no apparent cause. I literally did nothing to my computer and didn't download anything other than a simple 10 GB game. Does loading up a hard drive make the CPU have to work extra hard? Maybe this is a hard drive issue, and maybe it's time to upgrade my storage? There's no dusk issues, and the pump and fans are working fine on the H115i, so I really have no idea what's wrong. PS it's so bad that my computer freezes when I try to play F:H4. pls help
  7. Problem solved: The initial issue was only that I had to clean my radiator, but, after reinstalling, I had changed where the pump was plugged in by mistake (CPU_OPT instead of CPU_FAN). Now it's idling at ~37°C with only 50% fan speed, and Forza Horizon is playing at ~62°C CPU at load.
  8. Just updated the bio with specs, and I have only overclocked the GPU as far as I'm aware of. I bought the cooler mid-2020 with almost all other parts.
  9. 80°C after 30 seconds of starting Forza Horizon 4! Woohoo! This literally wasn't happening a month ago! What the hell did I download to get this crap to happen? I'm just gonna transfer all my important stuff off computer and completely wipe the harddrive and start from scratch if there's nothing else I can do
  10. Just washed and dried the Radiator. It's idling at 45°C with max fan speed and either max or min pump speed. This feels ridiculous, The thermal paste is covering the entire area needed, and I literally only have MSI Afterburner, iCue, task manager, and two Chrome tabs. I know Chrome is bad on RAM, but this CPU shouldn't need so much cooling power at essentially idle (~8% CPU on task manager) to maintain 45°C. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to fix the problem? Is it a bad AIO? Does the 6700k have this issue? Is it the 4-5 year old thermal paste? I have a feeling that it's the last one, but I'm just too tired to think right now.
  11. The pump is working great, so that can't be the issue. I've got a pretty simple theory that there's dust trapped around where the fans are mounted, so I'll be checking there in about an hour or so. It would make sense considering that I have the fans at 80% and it's still idling at 40°C. I assume that it would get down to 30°C with that fan speed and removing any dust. This is what I get for not cleaning my PC physically and potentially software-wise, but I'll see when I get there
  12. Also, the CPU has been idling at about 46°C ever since Disk % went lower than 50%, but that still feels too high for my set up
  13. A 4-pin plug did disconnect when I pulled it off the CPU block, so I just plugged it in to the spot that's labeled as "CPU_OPT", but maybe it should be plugged into "CPU_FAN"?
  14. I just applied new thermal paste to the CPU water block (i7 6700k and Corsair H115i) and it's idling just as high as before. Other than maybe a hidden clump of dust behind a fan that I can't see, I don't see why it's staying at such a high temp. Additionally, It randomly creeps up to the 70's and then creeps back down. It also crashes any time that I want to play a modern game. For example: Forza Horizon 4 was normally staying at a consistent 70°C before the idle started creeping up, and now it goes all the way to 90°C and freezes up after only a minute. I have the water block damn secure. For whatever reason the Disk is always at 99% on task manager, but that's probably just because of the fact that I'm using a 5 year old hard drive. Does anyone have suggestions on what to do?
  15. Now i have a consistent record for next time ??
