Corsair raptor HS30 (not bad for a budget set)
  1. I went with the sennheiser 558's. My PC is rather loud so the noise canceling was the big seller for me. I read some other reviews saying that the sennheisers were better for music than the AD700x, so that was another tipping point. Thank you!
  2. I should also add that I game alone, I don't use ts or anything that requires a mic. Not that I'm opposed to mics, but if I can lose the mic to save money and put it towards audio quality, that's perfectly fine.
  3. Disclaimer: I am not an audiophile, I don't need a $1000 Sennheiser headset. I recently received a $50 amazon gift card, and one idea I have is using it towards a nicer pair of headphones. What I'm currently using is a Corsair Raptor HS30 that I bought during a newegg sale. My main beef with it is that it's very creaky and I hear a lot of noise just moving my head around. I use my PC mainly for gaming (BF4), listening to music, and watching youtube videos. My budget is around $100-$130. I hear nothing but good about Audio-technica headphones, and I was looking at either the M40x or M50x (budget stretch), but I'll ask you guys first to see if I'm missing something. Thanks.
  4. Just as the title says. I want to do a mini-upgrade to my PC, and the main problem is this thing is loud. Currently I only haave one fan running exhaust (negative pressure lol), as there is no space for an intake fan. I want something cool, quiet, and with decent able management. My budget is sort of up in the air (Give me some options from cheap to $80) I haven't really been up to date with no hardware releases over the past year, so i don't know what the new thing is or what I should be looking at. My System Specs: Intel Core i5-3570k @ 4.3 GHz Asus Z77-A motherboard CM Hyper 212 EVO Sapphire Radeon HD7870 1050/1250 (Been giving me some issues which might stem from heat) Corsair CX600 Thanks.
  5. Can someone with big hands tell me their experience with this mouse? I've watched it drop in price from $65 to $47 and am thinking of picking one up. The thing holding me back is that it looks small, and my hands are massive (the distance from my wrist to the tip of my middle finger is 9").
  6. Are the maps in the China rising DLC any good? Meaning, are there full servers on them every day good?
  7. Around 16 minutes. Doesn't take too long to reach max temp.
  8. I ran prime95 to get a temperature idea after installing my hyper212 evo. Test was one using a manually set inaudible fan speed on the small fft's test. Results: My question is, what do these results tell me? Is my chip good?
  9. No, it doesn't. Regardless of OC, when idle the GPU throttles down to a low power state (mine is 300/150 Mhz), so it wouldn't be causing that much heat.
  10. Download GPU-Z and show the idle temp and then play some games and report the max temp. But if you're truly idleing at 60 c, you need to send it back.
  11. I'm in the middle of installing my 212 evo but I can't figure out the standoffs. When I put them in the proper holes, the standoff isn't wide enough to fit snuggly. It would easily fall out if I turned the mobo upside down like the manual suggests. Is this normal? Should I have someone hold the motherboard up for me while I screw it to the backplate?
  12. I played most of post human warrior. I never tried it against the alpha ceph though.
