  1. OP May I suggest you remove your game from your OS drive. It already hosting your OS/Saves/Most likely your Swap/hibranate files. That alot wear and tear on your main drive. Then you put steam and games in the mix. 1. Move steam on your HHD's <-- Just adding wear and tear your SSD and not that much slower for loading up namely if you have auto started. 1.a As to why I say this it as a gamer wanting his system last long and System to operate best as possible!! 2. Get a second SSD for games and program as most board have 4 sata connecters 3. Steam has a option have games on different drives. My library is split between 3 drives SSD and 2 HHDs <-- steam installed on HHD
  2. OK OP!! There can be several factors for the microing. I cann't say anything about helldrivers as for space enginner you should limit the GPU like 60 max. You may want to move your Swap file it own drive!! Mine is on a HHD that Formated 8k sectors to window it looks like a SSD!! Could be a Heat issue!! <-- Looking at your posted your Running fast and big!! Not always good thing!! All the game you said micro stutter are MP games not one single player. Most likely the net. Try like 1920x1080 You have good hardware!! I run my all my AM system with Preicnois Boost off 1800x 3800x 5800x 7700x Remember more pixels you push more the CPU has to work. Try backing off to 120mhz if your trying keep it fast. Also I hope you Put in a brace for your gpu to support the end of it!! GPU Stag Could break your GPU!! 7700x no Boost!! Keeps my power Bill in check and Heat low!! Air cooled 32 gig 7900xt 20 gig Most of my games are set play 60 mhz 1920x1080 <-- Heavy as hell Got it Buttend SUPPORTED. <Look at Monster 4090 weight problems "crack tabs" 1440p montior it like 160+fps Setup at 1920x1080 <-- Yea I know alot power to spare!! My computer also really quiet!! OS on NMVD, SWAP FILE on a HHD, Games are on SSD's and HHD's <mostly on HHDs This drive Config as limited transfer problems!!
  3. well with card like 7900xt I had to buy a GPU holder for it because was on it side. This computer being made to be move around when needed. Why I want it be flat when carried as it reduces risks of problems. When I go to my friends house I like take it with me!! I know what I'm looking for is a specility case. When it come to my computer builds I know what I want. Patients not a problem for me!! My main took me 2 years to rebuild. That was with case psu SSD and HHDs already. My main been rebuild 4 times in the same case over pass 6-8 years.
  4. I know the ram could be better. But I know it works on 2 different system. I'm sure there better ram out there others can suggest a better set. Look up the QVL for ram see there better for the MB!! <--Trust me use that I spent 230 on bad match up for ram when I built my main spent months trying figure why. Don't make my mistake!! I did look the ram see it did work for the mb!! 5. Why do people never keep several drives in there PC. 1 For OS 1 for Swap Everything else for storage 2+ drives.
  6. 1. I want the MB be Flat when it down. Not sideway like most computer are. 2. I'm Looking for it be compact like having the power supply under the MB with some space for HHD and SSD 3. MB is a "B650M Aorus Elite AX" it got a Assain 120mm fan with a off set of 8mm up on 1 fan. Something like this ------------------------------- [ ] [ ] [ MB+video card ] ------------------------------- [ ] [ power storage ] ------------------------------- Desk I been finding it really hard find a case that be like this config I'm not going replace my cooler as I see no need as it does a great job on my 7700x so a 7600x I think more then enough I may want to put in a 7900xt at some point. Can you guy help find a good case!! I looked on and off for like a year now!!
  7. 1. I have you ever tested defragging a OLD SSD one that been thought mutli OS update and that several years old see it speed it up like a fresh install. 2. SWAP FILE what are negtives and Postives of moving to like a older HHD vs having on OS drive. Personal my computer configs are like 1 OS SSD 1 Swap file / Storage 1 NON VR GAME 1 Other 1 VR games Yes I have defrag my OS SSD with defraggler but only file that that needed them other then "Hybrid/ System Volume Information" They will not do not need it. I like your show but your like a Know All Teen Ager on a few to many energy drinks vs like JaystwoCent is normal human <- I like humans
  8. For 90 about bucks you can buy a 4 gig HHD or a 2 tb hhd and 500 gig ssd Then use your old 1 tb for other storage and the swap file. I did this with all my computers 1 ssd OS 1 HHD Swap file and storage 1 HHD for Other 1 HHD games My configs depends on the computer but a basic set of mine. My mains are TV/VR 1 1tb SSD OS 1 1tb swap file and storage 1 4tb HHD gaming 1 2TB ssd for vr games 1 2tb for cad/storage True main 1 256 ssd os 1 2 tb HHD swap with a 8k file paging format so register as a SSD 1 2 tb hhd cad and storage 1 4 tb hdd non vr games 1 4 vr hdd for vr only I have never seen a performance hit on my computer for moving my swap file other then it wear out SSD less making it last longer. HHD are realably take rewrites from swap file alot better. Linus I WANT SEE WHAT YOU HAVE SAY ABOUT MY CONFIG FOR MY STORAGES!!!!
  9. I could argue with on that slasher. While there no platter there still needs be records of where info is on the SSD. Heavily fragg drive can expience slow do it needing look for the file vs records being clean in order. Explain to me why after 2 1/2 - 4 years OS updating like normal and basic stuff and Minus "SWAP FILE" The thing that write to disk when not enough memory Moved on day 1 Day to a own HHD Also download from chrome on a different drive I should not defrag other then wear and tear. Where I clearly limited my Defragging and my normal day wear tear is minimized.
  10. For one thing I know about Life span of SSD do wear and tear. 1 My swap file on a HHD not my SSD min wear and tear 2 I limited my defrag to file that where defragment with Defraggler. 3. I did that defrag after 2 1-2 to 4 years of use. And many many OS updates and CCleaner cleanings. It took my OS some time to load Defrag it Soon I loaded up my computer like a fresh install.
  11. Just for simple Specs 1800x 32 gig 2070 1 SSD os <--thing really used for. 4 HHDS 1 swap file/storage 1 vr games 1 nonvr games 1 cading projects and 3d printer stuff it storage. Here what wondering has a SSD get fragmented does it slow it down. What I seen you never talk about Heavily Fragmented SSD's and there performance only when you do fresh install. We all know how a HHD performs when heavily fragged. But the question is that does a SSD have a performance hit as it get fragmented? From my Experience oddly found that be yea it does. I decided defrag on the SSD 2 1/2 -4 year not doing a thing to it. Then 1 day and many many OS updates and cleanings I decided to Defrag my SSD. I know the load time of my OS it my main computer. When I did that it cut the loading time down like mad. My only guess is that sense defrag SSD had track less files so it fragments like a HHD less time searching. I know SSD are faster at searching though fragmented data that given. Have you ever tried defrag one that really old and fragmented to see if it speed it like new.
  12. Like turbo option I prefer reability and long lasting system. I have retired more systems to friends do fact they still good and really good what they needed for. I always built a system that last years not months. Plus 2 SSD dieing not a good sign in my book reability. So off loading a swap on to proven hardware. With little to no effect is a no brainer. But getting off to much was wondering if would be better 4k or 8k for file format for a better gaming experience. For my 4TB drives. Yea my gaming got point where I needed that much space.
  13. LOL my rigs not slowed 1800x no turbo 32 gig 3000 ram gtx 2070 256 ssd 2 2 TB HHD 1 4 TB HHD other 3800x no turbo 32 gig rt 5700xt 1 TB SSD 1 1tb hhd 1 2 tb hhd 1 4 tb hhd I really never found swap be a problem on a HHD vs SSD Plus I like to keep my hardware long possible so opted not have on my SSD do it limited life issues. And 2 SSD fails most like do this.
  14. I gave the swap file it own drive HD 1 and 3 drive is a standard of my current rig.
  15. Personally I prefer speed of loading game if improve it for gaming. I also know I need to balance it real world expection. I don't even let my 1800x or 3800x turbo.
