A1200 got a reaction from neSSa in Office Workstation V3 - The Final Revision!
After a reasonably long thread with various parts being changed out, as I did on my home workstation, I am starting a new thread to show the final itteration of this build. It has had 3 different motherboards in it, 2 different CPUs and various other changes so this is the final version of this build - the next work PC will be a scratch build, which hopefully won't be for some time! Like my home workstation, it is totally overkill but will hopefully facilitate some flexibility on the tasks its put to use on in the future.

    And so to the specs:

    CPU: Intel i9 9900kf
    Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 UD

Just go for a ddr4 4x32, ddr5 4 stick quad rank is complete shit atm not being able to run proper speeds

If you want more ram then that youll have to look at hedt like amd epyc, and those have much worse singlecore even if you get one of those es cpus that you can overclock

Ram speed is a non issue, just crank the imc volts and run ~4000 in gear 1, it helps if you get a micron 16gbit rev b based kit since those are very light on the imc. Gear 2 youll top out at around 4600-4800, too much imc volt over 4800 from what ive seen. max safe ~1.45v, risk of degradation if you go past that which i definitely would but im a madman that doesnt need the utmost of stability

I royally hate the Reddit structure. It makes no sense to me. Can't find anything of worth on the site. It's basically like the -chans but less entertaining. They can keep it far away from here.

Strict time order works best for me. The only minor change that sites like here could use is possibly stricter moderation to keep a thread on topic, and starting another thread is more relevant if the topic drifts.

DDR4? As @A1200 points out, its fine. On DDR5 though? Completely different sauce. Neither platform has a really good grasp at it even at the JEDEC recommended 4800C40 speed. If you really in need of DDR5 and high capacity the best thing you can do right now is to get the new 2x48GB sticks that are starting to roll out.

Avid Fan, long time viewer decided to come out from behind the counter and be public lol.

First build.  Old passion for the hobby came back and I am now at my final vision.  Took a year to truly fall into place after buildind my first pc with new hardware and decided to have an office/gameroom!

Back end off 2021 just before fall  I decided, "it" was time to bring out my 15 years of tech support after my prebuilt HP died and decided to build myself(being out of the industry for 8 years I wanted a challenge).

Photos 1, 2, 3 - The original parts, budget friendly, great discounts decided it was time to buy and build.

Started with the H510i, Z590 Aorus PRO AX, 10600K, 16GB DDR4 3200, Nvme 4.0 500GB Main OS Drive 3.0 speeds due to CPU Choice, 1TB HDD(from dead hp system), 3060TI 8GB Asus DUAL GPU, 280 AIO, 750W Gold Modular Power Supply.

The build and basic setup.  Budget friendly - Old TV/monitor, mousepad walmart brand.......i know gross - left marks easily.  Basic Amazon Mic, Logitech G305 wireless mouse. Razer hunstman 2.0 tkl keyboard.

Photo 4 - Revision 1.1 - Changed Case to a 011 Mini Air - cleaner looking case and better thermals.

Photos 5, 6, 7 - Revision 1.2 - New desks, mic arm, Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed mouse.  Ikea RGB head as a Headphone Stand, Seinheisers HDT 4.50 BT.

Photos 8, 9, 10 Revision 1.3 - New monitor - Acer nitro XZ2, WQHD, Curved, 1ms, 32 inch, Monster Sound bar with built in RGB - At this time I wanted as little rgb possible but the sound bar was a gift from wifey and dared not to say no.  After playing games more games got a Xbox Wired Controller hidden in plain sight, also after spending mpre time in the office I inverted the desks from photos 5, 6, 7 to create more openeness since to the left I have a small aquarium and to my back also a wall of aquariums.  Quality of life change - hung up first frames to symbolise it was done.......

Photo 11 Revision 1.4- Nope not done.....the chair - needed to drop me to the floor every time I moved to the left.  Decided it was time to invest into the office.  Slightly on the heavier side so i found a basic model that gave me weight protection.  I am not surprised by but nor dispapointed in the chair but will truly invest into a better chair down the road.

Photos 12, 13 - Revision 1,5 - Built my daughter her first PC - gave her my 10600K and small upgrad to my pc - a 11600K(the NVME 4.0, PCIE 4.0 upgrade for my PC) - let me know if you want specs or more photos of her build as she did help me.

Photo 14 - I caved, well not really.  I want little to no RGB.......truly.  But I also wanted to kit the system out with fans - sadly a great discount was in my face with ARGB.  Decided on a cheap support bracket to help with a small sag issue but might just remove the bracket not complete sold yet.....waiting for Verticle risers and brackets to drop in price.

Originally I wanted to go full stealth, but these days, getting anything without RGB is a challenge. After I saw the Red Devil, I kind of liked it, so I adjusted the case RGB strip to match. I'm pretty happy with the result in the end.

    Parts list:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X GPU: AMD Radeon 7900XTX 24GB - Power Color Red Devil RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 64GB(2x32GB)/6000MTs/36-38-38/DDR5 motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair X670E GENE storage: Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB (boot) storage: Kingston NV2 2TB (game library 2xRAID-0) cooling: Noctua NH-D15S chromax.black + extra 140x150mm fan thermal paste: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut PSU: Seasonic Prime PX-1300 case: Fractal Design Torrent Compact Black TG Dark + extra 180mm fan UPS: APC BX2200LI-GR Notes:
My choice of OS is Fedora Linux Yes, I'm aware the PSU is overkill, I aimed for clean and consistent power power delivery and never want it to have to work hard. I've had my share of issues with some component compatibility; motherboard, nvme-module, cooler fin-stack, fans, case I've had some mounting pressure issues, shared my experience here

Very smart. Looks amazing from the glass panel side. On the other side, cable management could be a little neater but it makes no difference to the performance or asthetics of what you can actually see when the case is closed - all depends on if it bothers you I guess.

After weeks of stressing and fixing and reinstalling and uninstalling windows, my PC build has been fully changed from my first ever computer (excluding HDD but that's just for archive files).
Starting of with an i5-3470, gtx 1050 and 8gb of ram, it had lasted a while but only ran games on low settings on low FPS and an upgrade was long overdue, now upgraded with an i5-7600k and rx 5700 new case, motherboard, psu, ram, etc. i am finally liberated from low fps. Big thanks to the people on here for the help with choosing parts and installing new components 🙂
i know there is a mess of wires behind, im waiting to get other devices so that i can cable manage everything 🙂

although its not the prettiest, i still really like the low profile design and high speeds compared to my old system, 🙂

Last year was for the first time i bought a TV and i went for a TV specifically for gaming, watching content and livestreaming in 4K. I got the LG B1 OLED 65" Gaming TV (2021)
I decided not to go for the new X3D CPU as they were too expensive here and i wanted to spend more on a high-end GPU to handle 4K very well
I also have a super ultrawide monitor, Asus XG49V that i am playing mostly simulator games on. I might get a 1440p ultrawide monitor at some point but not now

I would also like to dabble into streaming and recording while I play so I downloaded OBS and picked up the following items:
