  1. I don't know DOCP until you mentioned. When my pc boot I press Delete, then i go in the bios (Gigabyte b450 aorus pro). There is an option to turn on profile 1, which brings the freq to 3000MHz but next time my pc boots it would go back to 2133. So next to that option there was a number. I just changed it by pressing +, so that i reaches 2933. was that docp or xmp? Update: My games run stable at 2666 now. I never changed anything related to voltage so maybe I should now? :(
  2. Crap I think I knew it... You were right. I put my RAM back to 2133 (default) and it ran fine... But doesn't AMD advertise their CPU to take 2933MHz of system memory frequency? My RAM had the capability to go 3000MHz. Previously I did set it to 3000MHz but the system always reset to 2133MHz, so last month I set it at 2933MHz. It never reset and instead I got the whole mess above. Thank you very much man. I think the problem is clear. I will try with 2666MHz. AMD is so unstable. They advertises 2933 and yet I got this...
  3. Hello all, Sorry I put this in General Discussion because at this point I am at a total loss on what went wrong with my rig. I am bringing it to AMD Warranty tomorrow, but before that, I hope maybe some of you could diagnose what has been going on with this PC of mine. I thank you very much for your time to read this, and appreciate all advice or sharing of similar experience that you might have had. So I bought this whole new rig in 4 months ago. Ryzen 5 3400G as CPU with Vega 11 integrated. Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro as Motherboard. Two sticks of G.Skill Trident Z 3000MHz as RAM. An NVMe SSD 240GB from Lexar. And a 700W PSU from Hydro or Xigmatek X-Power 450W. No dedicated graphics card yet. Everything worked great until the last 30 days when I started experiencing game crashes and blue screens indicating graphics driver issue (Error list below) every time I play 3-20 minutes of game. I was using AMD Adrenalin 20.4, so I followed instructions on their official website to remove the current version and upgrade to 20.7. Problem not solved. I downgraded to 20.2. Problem not solved. Then I thought maybe I should not hold the Windows 2004 upgrade, so I upgraded and tried Adrenalin 20.4 and 20.7. Problem not solved. Out of desperation, I clean-reinstall Windows and tried those Adrenalin version again. Problem not solved. Once during this period of time, I put in the 700W Hydro PSU and RX 570 and got the same problem. I removed the card afterwards. At this point I was like "Ok I'm done with AMD bye." So I clean-reinstalled Windows again (using installation media. After reinstalling, I always check and update to the latest version), and then used Windows' default graphics driver, which also worked fine previously. To my surprise, I still got crashes and blue screens (Error list below). A friend told me maybe my SSD got an issue, so I removed it, got another SSD, installed Windows on it and ran it with my rig: Same issue persisted. Still blue screen. I am so confused right now. Yes the notifications all pointed at graphics driver but after so much testing, I really do not think the problem is with the software, or Windows, or the SSD, or the power supply. My CPU must have got some issue with Cache or some pins that reads graphics driver (?). I am so unsure of this. Below is the list of blue screen errors I have got so far, and some screenshot from my game. By the way, by game I mean all my games: World of Tanks, The Long Dark, League of Legends, Unturned, etc. After 3-20 minutes they just crashed. Once I also cleaned and added thermal paste to my CPU again. It never overheated, so it was not about temperature as well... I hope to receive your kind help and advice. Thank you very much! List of blue screen errors: attempted execute of unexecute memory irql not less or equal system thread exception not handled system service exception page fault in unpaged area driver overran stack buffer
  4. yes I know the cpu only support that far, but my question is the MSI one (aka the nicer one) has to OC to get 2933 while Gigabyte one does not have to OC. Does this mean much difference, like for board durability and such?
  5. Hi all, I'm picking a motherboard for my pc. Ryzen 3400G 2933MHz and Gskill Ram 3000 dual channel. I don't know whether to pick B450M Gigabyte Aorus or MSI Mortar. As I saw on their website (screenshot attached here), Gigabyte don't consider 2933MHz system memory frequency to be OC while MSI does. Does this mean Gigabyte is better? Please advise me on this point and any point at all. Thank you so much.
  6. I am using Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro. Is it the part where I hold SHIFT and click RESTART? (That's where I don't know how to proceed...)
  7. Hello. My new system contain only one M.2 SSD (where I also store Windows 10) and no other kind of storage. And everything was fine until yesterday when I removed the M.2 SSD and inserted a HDD, did some work. After that, I removed the HDD and inserted the M.2 SSD again. From that onward, whenever I restart OR turn off the turn on the computer again, it always shows like there is no storage found, I always have to restart, press F12 (boot option for Gigabyte motherboard) and select the SSD for Windows to start (which used to be automatic, but is not anymore...) Please help me. Thank you very much!
  8. Hello all, My PC runs on Windows 10 64bit. It's brand new (bought last month) so it starts and shuts down very fast. Recently I noticed that when I shut down, although the screen goes off already, the CPU and case fans keep running for about 10 seconds before shutting down. What could be the cause of this please? I'm worried coz it got blue screen recently. I clean-reinstalled Windows 10, the blue screen no longer appears, but the delay is still there...
  9. Hi all, I am torn between RX 570 and GTX 1650 Super Here the price difference is vast ($65) but not in my case, because I must buy a new PSU for RX, which makes the difference so much smaller ($23). My current 400W PSU cannot support RX. So it all came down to performance, but here it is still so confusing. YouTube benchmarking shows very different results in different videos comparing 2 same cards. In some videos GTX is better, but not in some others. So I hope you guys could help me clear this out: Is it worth it to pay some extra to get GTX? All kinds of reasons are appreciated even if you talk bad in general about driver updates or past bad products, I want to hear. Or could you help explain why the benchmarking was not consistent, is anyone cheating to help either AMD or Nvidia or they're just about driver or CPU compatibility? Thank a lot! Edit: My 2 options are Gigabyte RX 570 4GB Gaming and MSI GTX 1650 Super VENTUS XS OC 4GB Edit: Also great if you could recommend a card that is not one of those 2.
  10. Thank you very much for your detailed info. Guess I must spend some time studying more about PSU and power first and see if this Xigmatek brand is really good (i see a lot of cases, psu, coolers, etc. from this brand so i blindly assumed they were good). For now I'll stick to that integrated Vega 11.
  11. Hi Jon. I thought it could be trusted because Xigmatek looks like a rather big a popular brand here. I see a lot of its product and bought that PSU from one of the biggest PC component distributors in Vietnam. After your comment I did also dropped by the store again and became officially lost in the world of PSU and electricity... Yes that PSU is Vietnam only https://www.xigmatek.com/product_detail.php?item=220 Ouch that 80 Plus sign is fake? I never seen any other model... No each of the column in the PSU's wattage table does NOT represent one power cable? One tech guy brought me a 24 pin cable and started telling hey red means 12V yellow means -12V (something like that). I mean... wow... And the saddest part is NO everyone here and there say I should not add RX 570 to this PSU, even if I don't overclock at all. The website even says this VGA needs 150W https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/radeon-rx-570 I'm totally baffled. Then how should I calculate how big my PSU should be if the basic math CPU 65W VGA 150W is less than 400W does not work?
  12. Thank you all so much for the quick help. My PSU can be trusted. It is a Xigmatek X-POWER II 450 with 400W real power (as I see in the table on the box). It is also of 80 Plus standard. My confusion originated from a rather popular formula from youtube guides: Recommended PSU = CPU TDP + VGA TDP + 200W I assume 200W was just a safe advice? In my case my CPU (65W) and VGA definitely won't exceed 300W. The remaining 100W could well be spent on 2-3 SSDs and fans right?
  13. Hi guys, My system is supported by a 400W PSU and consists of the following: Ryzen 5 3400G - TDP 65W Three case fans, two M.2 SSD and 2 RAMs on motherboard (Gigabyte Aorus Pro) NO VGA yet NO plan to use more storage (SSD&HDD) I plan to buy the "GIGABYTE Radeon™ RX 570 Gaming 4G" (its source page recommends a 450W PSU) https://www.gigabyte.com/vn/Graphics-Card/GV-RX570GAMING-4GD/sp#sp My question is: Do I really need to buy a better PSU before I add this VGA? Coz my power consumption seems so low If this PSU can actually support the VGA, how many SATA3 SSDs can I add before the power supply becomes insufficient? Do all 6+2 pin connector of all PSU provide the same amount of power? Or I need to check what PSU fits with what VGA first? Many thanks in advance.
  14. I guess I gotta study this much more carefully before paying for anything... ? Just a last question though, do you think my set is good for min setting PUBG and max setting DotA 2, World of Tanks and War Thunder? (if you play any of those games) Thanks! Ryzen 5 3400G GIGABYTE B450 AORUS ELITE G.SKILL Trident Z bus 3000 dual channel 2x8GB
  15. What about the "overclocking" side please? Does the frequency an indicator of overclocking? If I assemble those 3 parts (CPU, MOBO and RAM), they will be running at 2933MHz and there will be no overclocking right?
