  1. Something major happened alright... I updated from Android Oreo to Apple IOS Pie.
  2. You guys are right about checking up on things before updating. However, given how updating is starting to work lately I'm not too sure how you would realistically do that. Windows just willy nilly updates itself. And by not updating you're not keeping up with the latest security updates. I guess the two should be separated maybe? Or UI updates should be able to be rolled back? Whats stupid to me is the fact that its all lumped together. I mean, why the Hell does Samsung or Android feel the need to change that stuff? If they want to offer UI improvements, then go right ahead and offer them. Maybe I'll take them, maybe I won't. I paid for the product I saw and tested at the store. Not what they delivered to me last night. Let me as a consumer choose how my phone exists and functions... Don't force what you think I need on me. PLEASE... I really love (not actually) the ignorance of comments like "If you don't like modern design then you shouldn't have bought a modern phone." What an absolutely worthless comment to make. I purchased a modern phone with a modern design and they shit all over its functionality with an update.
  3. Hello all, I rarely frequent the LTT forum but today I feel the need to post this. I feel like this is one of the few places online where there are people who understand the unlying issues which surround the baseline problem that drove me to do this today. Last night I received a notification on my Note 9 to update it (that notification had probably been there a while to be honest). Without really taking the time to read it I (foolishly) assumed it was just another security update or whatever. This morning I wake up to find my phone has Android 9 installed on it. Overall, the phone is just worse. In basically every way the UI is uglier. All the OS screens are terrible now. The recently used apps page is inefficient and just flat out worthless now. In my opinion, it got the worst of it as far as I can tell... The notifications (swipe down page) is also overall uglier. And finally, the settings page got trashed. The extra rounded corners on every single damn thing are horrible... Fed up with it, I actually called Samsung and was greeted by someone on their tech support line who freaking agreed with me about it... but just accepted it because he knew there's nothing you can do. Once they roll out an update... That's it. I also spoke to support chat and their suggestion was to use third party apps... Which considering what I paid out of pocket for this stupid phone (nearly a thousand dollars)... I found to be insulting. I'm sure a lot of people are just going to say... "well that's just like you're opinion... man..." And sure... I agree. I guess wanting my phone's UI to NOT look like a tablet made for preschoolers is an opinion. But this is just one drop in the bucket of terrible UIs which companies from a wide variety of markets seem to be dumping on us. From my school's new student learning system Brightspace, to the auto parts website's like Pep Boys and Autozone, to the dashboard in my friend's new Ford F150, to the UI on my smartphone... And don't even get me started with Microsoft's full-blown campaign to ruin Windows and Xbox Live... They are all just absolutely terrible. Inefficient with information and just completely murdered out with worthless graphics and buttons. I guess that's what you call a rant... but for me, this is a little more than that. I always vehemently stood by Windows, and Android, and Samsung... Etc etc etc... But not anymore. Samsung, Windows, Android... You're just as trash as that garbage over at Apple now. -Neff
  4. I didn't even know they made projectors like that... That shoot from below the image. Very cool!
  5. Heres my comment! I need a computer for my dad! This would be perfect! And with that kind of power I could play some games on my TV!
  6. Hi, I'm a student that needs a tablet for school. The TX300 really appeals to what I always thought tablets should be, and it seems like the right choice. Maybe the Microsoft Surface Pro, but its much smaller so I'm not sure yet. School started this past week I'm getting kind of desperate. Does anyone know when this thing is coming out and its price? I've been looking all over the place and although I actually came across a few links and pages nothing seems concrete. Most pages I've been on say its coming out Q1 2013 (up to 2 months?!?! -_- ). And I found a few online stores that all listed the price in the 1300-1500 dollar range. Which seems pretty steep to me. Any info would be great. Thanks -Christian
