We all know apple silicon cpus are good for performance. Apple silicon is the future cpu but it will never offer the grate features like the intel cpus did. apple silicon has work arounds for each intel feature but it will never be as good. I will list a few of the best intel mac features. If anyone can enlighten me on how to silicon is still better then  I am all ears.

intel macs being able to run old operating systems natively
intel macs running 32 bit apps via old operating systems
intel macs running windows natively via boot camp
intel macs support of external gpus
intel macs able to support x86 operating systems  via bootcamp or vm
intel macs able to run os from external device

Now these are the things that make an impact on my mac experience and if switching to m1 means I have to give up these features then apple silicon might be a step in the wrong direction for lots of intel mac users.

A lot of 32bit programs were good. So how do m1 macs run a 32bit mac os program. full windows divers are not available for vm.

You have a good build. Just wondering do you need a K processor. Your cooler is a little over kill you could get a cheaper one like the Noctua NH-L9i.  you should look at a low end gpu something with 1gb it will help keep temps on the cpu down.

Apple end goal is to make money. Didn’t get usb a ports buy an adapter, did not get the sd card slot buy an adapter, didn't get a ethernet port buy an adapter, need more storage by a hard drive. To make matters worse only there t4 chip makes it nearly impossible to use third party adapters. so apple makes a shit tone of extra money for removing the ports and charging high prices for there adapters.

the Psu should of been integrated and a usb c to ethernet adapter could of worked like it dose on the m1 laptops

Arguably it's in a better spot, at least now you don't have to finger the ass of your iMac to plug your cans in (or be a weirdo and actually move around to see the back of it).

I don't get what they were thinking when they did this, honestly. Like I get it, it's a throwback to the G3 iMacs which were white on *insert color*, but some things should just stay in 1998. Though I guess it does fit with the "fun and airy" thing they're trying to do with the iMac, so at least in that regard it makes sense why they went with white.

It really is just a refresh of a 10 year old iMac design.

well good to know that bootcamp will not be around because once my intel mac becomes unsupported I will move to a windows laptop and never buy a apple silicon mac

skylinetofast got a reaction from e22big in Should I invest in a high end fan?
you need to factor in the rpm and air movement because some 120mm fans need to run at full speed to move a decent amount of air which means the bearing is going to make a tone of noice. so look for a fan moves a grate amount of air with out having to ramp up the fan. For me when I was looking for a 120mm fan and 80mm fan for my case I looked for one with high rpms so that low speeds It was pushing the same or more air as the stock at full speed. look at using noctua fans that have high rpm

I will upgrade my gpu to 1000w and the case is perfect for the area I'm using it in so I don't want to change it. I do plan on changing the intake fan that's in the front on the case and putting a fan that can move more air
