  1. I was really confused to suddenly be getting roughly 10fps when playing destiny 2, where i usually get between 25-30 fps,i installed razer cortex to try and get me some more fps as its hard for my 2500u to play the latest games however a few days after i installed it my performance got worse and i think its because of that. i have a dell inspiron 3585 so not the fastest thing in the world but still below average. The further i looked into it i noticed on resource manager that when destiny 2 was open i was getting around 30% of my base clock (base clock is 2.0ghz i was getting 0.4-0.6ghz) but when destiny 2 is closed i immediately shot up to 110% of base clock, this issue only started occurring a few weeks ago and it is really off putting from wanting to play it. I tried this on another slightly less intensive game, ravenfeild, and found that it keeps switching between 110% and 30%, i closed it and the same thing happens, it stays above 100% frequency. then i tried this with an even less intensive game Minecraft, however this time it stayed pinned at above 100% like it should do. These tests were all done with cortex installed and on. Now i have uninstalled cortex it the frequency is near or above 100%, for Minecraft and ravenfeild, however the issue still persists with destiny, does anyone know if this is a hardware/cooling issue on my end or is it bad optimization on their end. In the middle of writing this i basically fixed the issue besides destiny 2, but im gonna post it anyway for anyone having a similar issue or if anyone knows how to fix destiny. Looking at it again destiny has improved slightly, it tries to stay at 80% speed for as long as it can but keeps dropping down to 30% before boosting to 80% again. This makes me think its a cooling issue on my end but i want to get everyone else's opinion first before i look at my other options.
  2. Budget: £550/$720 (Can't be stretched) I have spent the past few days planning this (It has been lots of fun may i add) and i will be building it in late December - Mid January, suggestions on improvements would be nice! 3. In my new pc build, i will be using an NH-D15, An MSI Gaming plus max, and 4 Sticks of crucial ballistix memory, i will also be using an NZXT H700. I am going for a red and black theme, but i am worried that my choice of cooler is too big, can my cooler be higher than my memory? Is there any way to adjust the fan height on my cooler? This is my first build so i want everything done right.
  4. It only has 2 sata ports though, i need 3, i was thinking of using the msi x570 a pro but im not sure
  5. I am going to have 4 RGB fans in my new pc and I want to be able to change the colour on all of them. I will be using an MSI X570-A Pro motherboard (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07TDST84Q/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1) and don't know if it has the right amount of headers to be able to control all of them or if im going to have to use a Commander Pro. The case I'm using is a 220T so it comes with one of those 6 port light things. I know I can power all of them but I don't know if I can control all of them, I will be using SP120's.
  6. I meant on IO, I need it to connect to my phone, its not entirely necessary but its a creature comfort, I have a rough budget of 160
  7. I need 2 usb 3 for front io and 2 usb2 for powering rgb and stuff like that
  8. I would like a motherboard with 2 x USB 3 ports, with 2 x USB 2 Ports 3 x Sata and a type c connection. I am quite new to computers so don't hesitate to ask for more detail. I have a rough budget of 250 dollars but it can be stretched. Thanks!
  9. im sorry, I want to feed my cat trust me
  10. You know, its a shame but some people deal with these things called budgets, probably never heard of them.
  11. I'm building a pc soon and I have a very tough decision to make, I have 2 options. Option 1: Mechanical Keyboard 32GB 3600Mhz Memory 165Hz 32 inch curved Monitor with G-sync AIO Water cooler Option 2: Oculus Rift VR Headset Please impart your wisdom on me, tech gods. Edit: I have come to an ultimatum, work on getting the PC as good as possible for the budget, you can get a VR Headset later.
  12. I Believe I have unlimited access, so I don't have to worry about using too much data. I bought the extender next to the router, and it was roughly the same as it was before, slightly higher but only by a few mb. I think the bottleneck here is the wifi transition between the router and the extender, if I was using wifi and not ethernet I don't think it would be a problem. I am going to try and get a very long ethernet cable, and route it to my pc, based on the first experiment, that should help.
  13. Hey so i find this stuff quite difficult, i believe its fibre but im not entirely sure, by the way i live in the uk, thought you should know in case that affects anything. I attached a link below to my router in case that helps. I get 92 download 22 upload 1 ping on the speed tests, however when im actually downloading lets say a game from steam, it peaks at 8 or 9. I could easily get a long ethernet cable and run it all the way upstairs into my room it's just a bit inconvenient, i could move the router up to my room but i would have to check how many ethernet ports are being used and how many are on the extender. If i can run a cable from my router, to my pc, gigabit should be possible then? And if i were to buy a new router how would i switch it so the internet comes from the router i bought not the ISP? Update: Plugged my laptop into the isp router and got these results Router to extender via Wi-Fi to ethernet to laptop - 92 Download 22 Upload 1 Ping Router to Laptop via ethernet - 147 Download 26 Upload 1 Ping This test was done with 3 other people in the house, 2 streaming video, and 1 on a video call. This was done multiple times and is the best score, the average is 136 Download 24 Upload 1 Ping https://shop.bt.com/products/bt-smart-hub-2-097683-DYNK.html
