  1. Eureka! An Idea!! VR Verses Multi-Screen set up for Flight/Space Sims; Perfect preparation for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator or an excuse to go back and play some Wing Commander IV. Review of components (flight stick/chairs/rigging/software), commentary on the culture of flight simmers etc. Controls hooked up to the chair, chair in realistic positioning, quality of games, selection of games to garner an understanding of cost to set-up verses longeivety or ability to use that set up on multiple games. (Can you Modern Warfare in a flight sim set-up etc.) Does any of it make sense when considering the $$$ put into the set-up? Cheers Ian
  2. I mentioned early on that all speed test results are the same, no issues pinging a server. It is all in navigation and downloading where a substantial hit can be seen. Uniform security on all machines, although possibly different levels of updating, Malwarebytes across all machines. I will drop in the versions into this feed after work, apparently it is something specific to my machines that is causing it, as no one else has identified it as an issue for them. Although, the only thing separating those machines that run GC fine and those that don't is the two that I updated, I will update a third tonight to see if we can make it a hat-trick. Might even take a video. So If i figure it out, I will be sure to update you all.
  3. I have unlimited internet without throttling, Also, different browsers (firefox and edge) on the same machines are not showing any symptoms, and the results are consistent and replicateable across any site attempted. It appears to be browser related. Will do a fresh install this afternoon, but wanted to investigate further before just wiping the slate clean. RE net neutrality, I am not in USA, so not an issue for me.
  4. Google Chrome and Edge and Firefox, all installed on each machine. Any page loading on either machine shows fine/standard perfomance in edge and firefox, and the same sites in chrome are acting exactly like it was downloading at 200KB/s, i.e. page will take 6 to 12 seconds to load, any navigation is severely hamstrung. I have swapped DNS, cleared caches etc. for comparison, and all results are the same. 3 of my machines that have not been updated act like there is nothing wrong. 2 of them have, and Google Chrome is suddenly feeling like netscape navigator circa 1997.
  5. Have been using cloudflare for about a year already. So thats not it.
  6. Hi All, Just a quick question, as I have noticed after updating windows 10 on 2 of my 5 machines, google chrome on those 2 machines has immediately started to underperform. Doing a speed test, reports blazing fast speeds, but downloading any page or file appears to be throttled to about 200KB/s. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Cheers Ian
  7. I second this opinion, I have tried both and really good stereo headphones are definitely better than surround headphones, if you want the reverb introduced etc. then virtualisation will sound just as good. Don't buy gamer headphones unless they are an absolute bargain.
  8. Thanks man, I shall have a play around with that and see how it goes. Cheers Ian
  9. Yes, Bluetooth headset, but HDMI out to soundbar, Bluetooth is possible to the soundbar also, and if you have a guide on doing that in tandem, that would be a great start. But in a perfect world, I would like to preserve the Dolby Atmos, which is not possible over BT. Cheers Ian
  10. Hey, This question I posted might make an interesting video? Surely there are a few ways to achive this result?
  11. Hi All, My wife has a fairly substantial hearing impairment and the hearing loss is accelerated by having to strain to hear things like the television or conversations in a loud room. I bought her a lovely pair of Sennheiser HD 4.50 to watch TV with, and they work really really well, they accommodate her hearing aids really well and allow her to actually enjoy movies. The noise cancellation in the headphones really allows her to listen to audio at comparitively low volume, which helps preserve what remaining hearing she does have. My only problem is that my old Sony Bravia allowed for two audio outputs, speakers and headphones, and we were both able to watch the movie at the same time. My new TCL does not have the same functionality. I have my HTPC (Windows 10) plugged into the TV via a Samsung Q70R soundbar, so am looking for a software solution that will also allow me to have my wife still using the headphones plus keep the soundbar receiving a full signal of Dolby Atmos (I know that it isn't as good as full speaker set-up, but my lounge room is really small). Or if there is an affordable hardware solution, I would be interested in that also. Any thoughts/resources/genius hacks that you guys could throw my way?
