  1. May I ask what Heaven 4.0 results you guys are getting? In the link of the OP there are numbers like 150-160fps... These are my scores: Stock settings: Score: 1969 / FPS: 78.2 +111PL, +125core, +825memors: Score: 2223 / FPS 88.3 is my card broken?
  2. Could we get back on topic mates :) my bios is fine but my performance is off. Do the screenshots help to know what I’m doing wrong?
  3. @Mitzy, sure, that's the last time I will upgrade lol. But sometimes I do stupid things when I'm already falling asleep
  4. What I forgot to write are the strategies I tried: 1.) I went ahead and set all loose primary timings (16-20-20-40) according to this guide and pushed frequency up to 3533 and still got a POST. No post anymore with 3600. 2.) At 3533 I started decreasing primary timings one by one, failed already after going 16-19-19-40) 3.) went back every frequency step until 3200 again, always tested and always got bad cinebench results. 4.) Because I was resettings CMOS like every 4th attempt, I went back to 3200 and just played with the timings. The timings I have now seem good and low, but results are still bad. 5.) As you can tell, I'm not a pro, I build acomputer every 4-5 years and than I'm enjoying the tweaking - but now frustration is probably a better word then enjoy haha Corsair CMW32GX4M2C3200C16.html
  5. ok, here are some screenshots: With the settings below and having tRFC on AUTO, I got about 4300pts in Cinebench 20. tRFC was indicated as 504 in the black box CHA CHB. After that I set tRFC to 307 acc. to DRAM Calc 1.7 Safe preset for 3200 and I ended up with a score of 4073... How is that possible, how can I tighter timing get me a much worse result? The only other settings I have besides that are: PBO Manual (PPT 300, TDC 230, EDC 230. Scalar Manual 2x. Max CPU boost AUTO, thermal throttle AUTO. as well as PROC ODT 53.3 . Doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever
  6. Hey guys, so I'm back after 10 more DRAM profiles and countles own adaptations.... can't get past 4318 points anymore. My latest timings on 3200 are 16-17-17-17-36 and got 4200 points.... and latency in AIDA64 shows 80.8ns which is also bad as f. I wonder if I'm just too stupid for it, unlucky, have bad memory or have something else completely misunderstood.
  7. Hi there I've built my rig in march and I'm tweaking ever since. Replaced the stock prism wraith cooler with the NH-D15, changed the GPU cause of fan noise and I'm back to tweaking. Here is my system: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X (AM4, 3.90GHz, 8-Core) Noctua NH-D15 Chromax ASUS Rog Strix X570-E Gaming (AM4, AMD X570, ATX) MSI GeForce RTX 2070S GAMING X TRIO (8GB) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2x, 16GB, DDR4-3200, DIMM 288) Samsung 970 EVO Plus (1000GB, M.2 2280) Corsair Crystal 570X RGB 2x Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB (120mm, 3x) - 6 fans total Corsair Commander Pro (External, 6x) Corsair Lighting Node Pro (RGB, 10, 410mm) Corsair RM850 *2019* (850W) Last weekend, late night (or morning lol), I thought why not upgrading the bios to 1408, probably the PCH fan will be quiter than or adjustable... I was too stupid to save or screenshot the settings I had so I'm back to zero when it comes to ram tweaking. Back when I had Bios 1407 and still the stock cooler, I reached 4462 pts in Cinebench Release 20 with the ram settings I had there. I've been adjusting parameters the whole day yesterday and the best I've got is 4318, I had so many failed boots I cannot count it anymore . So I'm looking for advice to tweak my system a bit more to at least come back to the number I've had. Here's what I'm running (reaching 4318): 3266 frq, Soc 1.025, DRAM 1.4v, PBO Manual (PPT 300, TDC 230, EDC 230. Scalar Manual 2x. Max CPU boost AUTO, thermal throttle AUTO.) - Timings: 16-18-18-18-36 / PROC ODT 53.3 If I don't loosen the timings, I won't get higher with the frequency and I'm sure back when I reached 4462 I was only running 3200 but with tighter timings. I can imagine that performance wouldn't raise much, but it bothers me that I could get more out of the system haha. Regarding CPU OC'ing. I didn't cause a lot of forum threads say, PBO is superior than OC. Hoping for some advice on what I should try next.
  8. Hey all, I went ahead and ordered the Noctua NH-D15 Chromax. Hope that beast fits haha. I still don't know though, whether it is normal that I didn't really gain a performance increase by changing the PBO settings as suggested in the video of the second post. These are still my results. Could anyone have a look and tell me if that's normal?
  9. Did that, what should it achieve - lower temps? I don't see a difference but got a worse result in cinebench (4292pts)
  10. Already have the balanced one unfortunately But if I still want PBO but still lower temps and better fan noise, I don't have another choice than replacing that stock cooler right? @all - after applying the settings from the video, I don't see the same performance increases as this guy. Here are my results before (AUTO) and after (like in video) PBO settings: Bench Comparison - also my values are so much lower than the values of the guy in the video. Is it cause of the ram (only have 3200 ones)? I can do some more tests if it helps.
  11. This video is gold! Got a lot to do, glad that the temps are not too worrying but to be honest, the noise is of the most concern.
  12. Hi guys I've completed the following build a couple of weeks ago: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X (AM4, 3.90GHz, 8-Core) ASUS Rog Strix X570-E Gaming (AM4, AMD X570, ATX) Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070S Windforce OC (8GB) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2x, 16GB, DDR4-3200, DIMM 288) Samsung 970 EVO Plus (1000GB, M.2 2280) Corsair Crystal 570X RGB 2x Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB (120mm, 3x) Corsair Commander Pro (External, 6x) Corsair RM850 *2019* (850W) I've installed the stock Prism Wraith cooler and the temps seem really bad. The CPU temp is jumping between 55-65°C when idle! Frequency goes from 3850 to 4400 constantly as well. So first off, I don't have any OC's applied, just PBO enabled. By reading various OC forums about the Ryzen 3800X it looks like OC'ing this processor is not worth it because PBO is very good. But can somebody explain a AMD noob why the ... a CPU has the desire to boost every second to 4.4GHz when IDLE??? This is beyond me lol. I build computers only every 4 years or so, so I'm a noob, but I've really never seen such a thing, but apparently it is normal? Back to the temps: 55-65°C idle 70-75°C playing SC2 for 3 hours (mostly hovering about 71°C and maxing 85°C once according to HWInfo. When stress testing - up to 95°C within seconds - so I never really bothered stress testing... GPU sits nicely at 54°C And here are some other temps, at idle while I'm typing this and have 3 browser tabs open on 3 monitors (HWinfo64 - 6.24). Btw. no idea what Temp 2-5 are, but 2 and 5 also seem high. Regarding case fans. I have a positive pressure setup. 3x Corsair QL 120 intake fans pushing 30rpm higher than the 3x Corsair QL 120 exhaust fans. They run at around 800-900rpm if all is normal. Temp readings of the installed commander pro probes also look very normal. (Mod case around 40°C and upper case around 42°C). So yes, why I came to this forum is to seek your advice. First off, the cooler is driving me nuts. I love the small form factor and RGB, but it is sooo loud. at idle it is constantly around 2000rpm and keeps spinning up and down. I did fiddle with the fan curve and can of course avoid that said jumping around, but with my already off the charts temps, I cannot put the fan curve even lower, so I left it stock. Obviously I'm already considering the switch to another cooler, be it AIO or the big NH D15, but to be honest, if I can get it handled with the prism to get decent temps, I'd rather keep it and adjust the fan curve. What would be my next step? Could it be a Bios setting I missed? Should I try to remove the cooler and put on new paste (I went with the pre-applied one)? If you think that's also not worth it than my next question would be regarding the cooler replacement. Would you go with a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax or the Corsair H150i RGB PRO XT (360)? I would like to get a quite setup, at least when idle. The Noctua would likely be quiter but would seriously mess up my RGB. I'd likely even have to remove the rear fan. The H150 is cool from an RGB point of view, but I'm not sure about the noise and the potential leaking the some users report. Hope somebody can help me figure out why the temps are so high and if it's necessary on a cooler replacement. Cheers, ecopsorn
  13. hey man - thx. I know that the 3700X is as good as the 3800X but the price difference in Switzerland is 25$ only. I had initially the Noctua NH-D15 Chromax cooler on my list but was told that the stock cooler on the CPU is good enough, what do you think? Any feedback about the MB? I'm looking at different Gigabyte X570 now, Aorus Ultra, Master or the ASUS Rog Strix X570-F Gaming.
  14. Hi allI'm new here, looking for advice on a hopefully pretty solid parts list for my new gaming/video editing rig.I always build my own rigs, but it is 6 years ago when I completed my current rig and it is time for a replacement.Goal:Overall very solid rig with a price point around 2000$ (I live in Switzerland so it is the currency CHF, but it is about the same as $ at current rates). Used for video editing (lots of 2k GoPro vids) in a project (up to 100 per project) and Gaming. Looking to buy also a new 2560x1440 monitor to bundle with 2 Dell 1080p monitors as a 3 monitor setup. I don't play a lot of AA titles, but I want the capability. Here is my current list, please advice if I overlooked some compatibility issues. For the GPU, I want to go either RTX 2060S or 2070S, I currently have a great deal on a Gigabyte 2070S at least for Switzerland, so it might be worth to get it.I have the whole build in this gsheet, but if you prefer to read in bullets, I copied it in the text below AMD Ryzen 7 3800X (AM4, 3.90GHz, 8-Core) Gigabyte X470 Aorus Gaming 7 (AM4, AMD X470, ATX) Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070S Windforce OC (8GB) current deal is for CHF 489 instead of CHF 546 I know the Gaming OC version is better but doesn't have the deal and comes in at CHF 580 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2x, 16GB, DDR4-3200, DIMM 288) Samsung 970 EVO Plus (1000GB, M.2 2280) Corsair Crystal 570X RGB Corsair RM850 *2019* (850W) As a new monitor I consider: ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q (27", 2560 x 1440 pixels) or Dell UltraSharp U2719D as alternative as written above, bundled with two 1920x1200 Dell monitors on each side So yeah, I'm looking for some advice on whether this is a solid build or if I should change some components. Three things I'm especially unsure: 1.) Power Supply - I found the Corsair RM850 on a website and also got recommended the Seasonic Focus GX (850W). On this website there are so many more but to be honest, I have absolutely no idea what PS would fit my build the most, be it brand, type, watts. 2.) Should I upgrade to a X570 instead of a X470 3.) GPU - well I was aiming for a 2060S but giving the deal above, I think I gotta go 2070SAppreciate any feedback.ecopsorn
