  1. Thank you for your reply. I've now looked into nomachine and it seems like it is a solution worth testing (I'll probably give Windows Remote Desktop a shot first though). So over the next couple of weeks I'm going to build a desktop computer. Fingers crossed this will work.
  2. Hi, I should preface this by saying that I have no prior experience using remote desktop in any form. My aging laptop is not powerful enough to handle my 4K video editing needs (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects), but rather than breaking the bank by investing in a new heavily specced laptop I'm hoping this alternative is a viable solution: Building a desktop computer and use it through (local) remote desktop on my current laptop. That way the desktop computer can just sit in a corner of my apartment while I can move around and work from the couch, bed etc on my laptop. So, is this solution even possible? Will I be able to monitor audio through remote desktop? What about latency? And will keyboard shortcuts for the editing software still work over remote desktop? Basically, will I be able to work with the same user experience and input latency through local remote desktop?
