  1. No that does not make any difference. The computer will use one gpu for graphics processing no matter what display is used. You can use a gpu with dead video ports by popping in gpu with working ports
  2. I have two gpus in my pc: The integrated intel gpu and a dedicaded hd 5450. I activated the integrated gpu, so I could use 3 Monitors. I think that Minecraft is using the integrated gpu instead of the hd 5450, because im getting terrible fps and my entire system just feels really... ew... How do I make sure that my system is using the hd 5450 rather than the integrated gpu edit: I should probably add, that im using Pop! OS LTS 20.04
  3. the riser is power with a sata to 6 pin adapter. the riser is using a pcie 1X to usb 3.0 adapter. the usb 3.0 cable goes into the small daughterboard wich the gpu is plugged into
  4. Basically exactly the same that you discribed. I ended up replacing the hard drive
  5. I had the same issue. You should download crystaldiskinfo and see if your hard drive is ok
  6. That still doesnt explain the ridiculous temps. Also I dont need it for gaming I need it for game dev. Also I was gonna buy a full 16X riser, but if the temps will be that bad I wont. I need to use a riser because if I installed it on the slot, the cpu cooler would be in the way. btw im using an LGA 1155 motherboard with an i3 2100
  7. This is a bit of a wierd one. So when I put my GT 630 in my moms pc (B350 motherboard, A8 9600) My idle GPU temps are around 30-40, but when I use a 1X to 16 riser, wich I need to plug it into MY pc, then the gpu sits at 80 degrees under no load. When I try to fire up a game the gpu overheats imediatly. changing the clock speeds literally makes 0 difference in temps. A friend of mine said something about that it might be related to "traffic issues". Im lost please send help
  8. I just plugged in a second gpu that I got for 2 euros from the flee market 6 months ago
  9. https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01DRWCOGA/ref=twister_B086B17SGY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Buying something like this will get you wonderful results in terms of video quality. You could go for some really cheap alternatives for around 70 dollars, but you will regret it, when you see the footage. Sadly there is no good alternative, that I know of and I did a lot of research. You are going to have to save up.
  10. So basically just plug in any cheap *behind* gpu I have lying around and it will just let me use the 3 monitors? Cool. Thanks.
  11. I had a very similar problem with my gt 630. It actually was EXACTLY as you discribed. Screen goes black, computer still running... You should download msi afterburner in order to check you gpu temperatures while the game is running. If the temps are too high, you can clean the gpus (replace thermal paste and clean the gpu cooler), or just lower the clocks. Lowering the clock speeds will reduce your graphics cards temparetures as well as the performence. Download msi afterburner: https://de.msi.com/page/afterburner you need to scroll down a bit and let the site finish loading to see the download link
