Moving data from old HDD/SSD to new?

I'm about to build my first PC and I have the old drives from my old laptop. The SSD is my boot drive and HDD is bulk storage. How easy would it be to build my tower, install Windows, then hook up my old drives and copy my music and pictures and stuff over? Is it really as easy as copy paste?

So I'm building my first rig after my old gaming laptop croaked on me. I want to move all of my steam game files over so I don't have to reinstall all of them, but I am unsure of how to do that. Do I just plug in the old drive using SATA power/data cables and just drag and drop? Or is there something else I need to do? I just don't want to spend so much time downloading all my stuff if I can drag n drop all my pics and games and such. Thank you in advance!!
