Chris Matters reacted to Saphir in LG 27GN750-B 1080p@240Hz vs LG 27GL850-B 1440p@144Hz - Which one to buy?
    Hello,

so, finally the new LG Monitor with 1080p@240Hz is available to buy at Amazon. As the 1440p@144Hz model was named as the best monitor of 2019, my thoughts are that this FHD@240Hz would be even better? At least it's newer.

Anyway, I read a lot of posts between 1080p@240Hz and 1440p@144Hz, which is better, but there was not a comparison between 2 the same monitors, except the resolution and refresh rate. Lots of people write, that 240Hz monitors has more often TN panels, which is obviously worse, but the LG ones, both have IPS panels.

It also depends on games, which I play, but unlucky I play also SP and fast MP games, like CS:GO etc.

My ideal combo would be, 1440p@240Hz IPS 27'', but there is no Monitor at the Market existent.

For now, I would prefer the 1080p@240Hz, because I would not be so much afraid to run new AAA titles in the future, for at least 60-144Hz (depends on game). But on the other hand, the 1080p would not be so sharp (great looking), than on a 1440p. Especially, while I'm writing it, I'm siting at a 4K 27'' display - which is not great for gaming, at least for now and my GTX 1080Ti.

So, what would you prefer, or do you have maybe experience with these monitors? I would be glad for any advices and other points of view. Thank you in advance.

    My specs:
    ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO
    Intel 9900KS
    GTX 1080Ti
    32GB RAM 3200 DDR4
