  1. gonna be honest last time i did an update was the one that made it compatible with the 3000 series CPU so its probably out of date. I'll probably look into it tomorrow if I remember. Should probably check my CPU too... wait do u update a cpu? I honestly cant remember, I know how to put a pc together and the basics of the software side but its so rare that I do anything with it that I can never remember
  2. I'm pretty sure everything is up to date, I updated my GPU only like a week ago so i know that's up to date. Possibly could be caused because my GPU appears to be hitting 100% utilisation almost constantly whenever I play any game which I don't think should be happening as I check online to make sure that my GPU should comfortably handle whatever game I want before I buy it. As it happens I was trying to play dying light about 10 minutes before typing this (or it was before i forgot to post this like an hour ago) and was using the AMD metrics overlay. The moment i tried to actually load into the game from the menu screen I just heard the classic buzzing sound you get when as game crashes and then my PC just shut down and restarted itself.
  3. I've been looking and found that the company that insures my phone also does computer repairs, I just spoke to them on the phone and they told me that if I go to the next city to where I live that they actually provide a "computer health check service" from within a big electronics store called "Currys PC World" however they just don't advertise this service unless you ask for it in store or over the phone. So I'm probably gonna take my PC in there on like Saturday and c what they say about it. Hopefully it won't cost too much coz I'm just about to start a new job and am pretty much broke at the moment.
  4. I originally went for a 750, knowing that it is way over the top. so that I have ample room for upgrading in the future without having to worry about it. Only problem with going to a shop or specialist is that I don't know of anywhere within reasonable range of me that actually tests parts and is trustworthy / well known and I can't find anywhere when I google it.
  5. I thought about that but the lights on my GPU stay on when this happens so im not sure how it could be that. Im clearly not that well informed on PCs as im basing my reply on lights being left on but that just seems to make sense to me. But ill check it out anyway just to be sure, is there anything specifically you might suggest?
  6. I know that this is similar to other questions on the internet I've seen however none of the answers I have seen have been any help. The problem I'm having is that sometime when playing games my computer restarts, however my GPU stays on or at least the lights do when this happens. I am sure that all Drivers are up to date and I check to make sure I can run the games that I play before I buy them (always make sure I meet recommended specs not just minimum). This issue usually occurs anywhere between 5mins and 2 hours of playing. I have checked my temps multiple times before and after this has happened on several occasions and they are never unusually high. there is never any crashing sound and when it happens my pc shuts down instantly. The only defining thing about this happening is that when my pc restarts there is always a black screen with nothing but a small white line in the upper left quarter of the screen which I believe is the same screen you get when doing a bios flash or whatever its called. PC SPECS: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x Motherboard: MSI x470 gaming plus GPU: Sapphire nitro+ rx590 special edition (the blue one) RAM: 16gb corsair vengeance pro RGB (2x8gb in slots 2 and 4) PSU: Corsair HX750 watt I know that my pc isn't anything special but its the best I can do rn and I want to look at getting a VR headset in the next few months just to play casually or when i got friends round so I wanna try and fix the crashing issue before that. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.
