you could use a 9900k, LGA 1151 is broken half and your board is the later half. HP only officially lists the 9700k as working but the 9900k should work.
the biggest issues will be cooling 9900k can be very hot chips.
 
I'd also look at what editing program you are using and consider on that uses hardware better like resolve.
