  1. So at the moment my computer has 16GB of generic RAM in it, but the issue is any other RAM at all causes the following issues, freezes during startup, almost starting and seeing the desktop and loading screen simultaneously but being frozen, starting but not recognizing the keyboard or mouse or any USB ports, also when I try to install Windows on another SSD it freezes halfway through installing with the other RAM installed, but with the generic it works perfectly, I tried G.Skill, Corsair and T-Force, tried all of them at 2133Mhz, 2400Mhz, 3200Mhz, XMP off and on, 1 stick, 2 sticks, 4 sticks, all different voltages, resetting BIOS, even resetting the BIOS and installing them at the 2400Mhz they default to none of those three sets work even then, all leads to the same issues, with the original generic (mismatched) 16GB it seems to work normally, but with any other RAM at all it causes all those issues, also with the generic RAM gets to the BIOS relatively quickly, but the any other RAM it takes longer to get to the screen with the motherboard logo, the keyboard and mouse take longer to come on too with other RAM, My system info Intel Core i5 9600KF ASRock Z390 Pro4 (with latest BIOS) Generic RAM: One 8GB Adata and one 8GB Crucial (2666 Mhz) Corsair H60 V2 AIO Zotac RTX 2060 Corsair RM750x Samsung 500GB 970 Evo Plus Windows 10 Pro RAM I tried, Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200Mhz, G.Skill Trident Z 3200Mhz, T-Force Delta R RGB 3200Mhz (tried two different sets).
  2. Hi everyone, first let me apologize if this isn't worded clearly, I try my best explain things but I'm not the best, The issue: On startup my monitor will switch itself on for a few seconds, then just after the Windows logo appears it will give a no signal message then turn off, the pc boots and acts normally, mouse and keyboard are on and work, sound works, if I fiddle with the monitor I can get it to eventually start and all behaves as normal, If I switch the pc off with the power button and restart, before fiddling with the monitor to start it, it will restart normally but my monitor will have switched from 1440p 144Hz to 1080p 60Hz, oddly sometimes the option for 144Hz has even disappeared though not always, This only happens on first boot of the day (I shut my pc down each night because in my area power outages are common), subsequent boots during the day don't cause the issue, After starting the monitor behaves normally all day, gaming, general use, going on and out of sleep, it never switches itself off, artifacts or behaves strangely in anyway, The pc behaves normally, no crashes, glitches, or any obvious issues, Things I have tried: Resetting Windows to default, Fresh installation of Windows, Fresh installation of Windows on a brand new SSD, A different (brand new) GPU: just in case it was a driver or an issue my other GPU, Reseating the GPU, RAM, CPU ect, Different cable, My conclusion: I'm 99% sure it's the monitor itself but before buying a new one I want to make certain I haven't missed something obvious, Unfortunately I don't have a second PC or monitor so I can't swap things around to check if the issue persists, I'm also aware some of my steps were unnecessary but I'm in the process of upgrading components, RAM, SSD, GPU, so I took extra steps just to try, I even tried an older installation of Windows 10 from an older installation USB I had laying around just in case it was a Windows update that was causing it, Thanks for your time in reading this and any help or insight would be greatly appreciated, My pc specs, in case it's necessary, i7 8700K, ASRock Z370 Pro4 Motherboard, 16GB G.skill Trident Z RGB 3200Mhz RAM, 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400Mhz RAM (before upgrade) MSI Ventus XS 2080 Super, Nvidia GTX 1080 Founders Edition (before upgrade) Corsair RM750 PSU, Samsung 1TB 970 EVO Plus, Kingston A2000 SSD (before upgrade), Windows 10 Pro latest build and updates,
