  1. I found a way to bypass the windows version check with the ethernet driver (here is the link: https://blog.workinghardinit.work/2017/06/19/installing-intel-i211-i217v-i218v-i219v-drivers-windows-server-2016-eufi-boot/ ) but never found a way for the chispet.
  2. It does blue-screens with different error codes everytime while updating and straight up doesn't let me install any windows 10 drivers for the chipset or the ethernet card.
  3. Recently, a small buissiness approched me to build a server. Problem is that they were on a strict budget but still wanted some pretty heavy power. Me, being dumb and young, decided that it would be a good idea to try and run desktop parts instead of real server parts since they are cheaper. Here are the specs: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Threadripper 1920X 3.5 GHz 12-Core Processor $349.10 @ Amazon Canada CPU Cooler Noctua NH-U12S TR4-SP3 54.97 CFM CPU Cooler $91.60 @ Amazon Canada Motherboard Asus ROG Strix X399-E Gaming EATX sTR4 Motherboard $419.99 @ PC-Canada Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory $104.75 @ Vuugo Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory $104.75 @ Vuugo Storage Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive $169.99 @ Amazon Canada Storage Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive $169.99 @ Amazon Canada Video Card MSI GeForce GT 710 1 GB Video Card $58.50 @ Vuugo Case Fractal Design Define XL R2 (Black Pearl) ATX Full Tower Case $169.99 @ Vuugo Power Supply EVGA 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply $229.50 @ Vuugo Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1868.16 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-02-24 21:24 EST-0500 ( I run a RAID card in RAID1 with the 2 SSDs) I soon found out that windows server 2016 doesn't like windows 10 drivers. Therefore I get constant blue screens and overall a lot of problems. It is my first time building a server so I don't have any experience in that domain. This is why I come to you LTT hivemind. I need a solution but I can't really afford to pay more than 200$CA ish.. I can probably get a refund on most of the pieces since they are almost all bought from Amazon. Thank you for your time !
