StanicEnemy reacted to Jurrunio in What motherboard is better for my budget?
Gigabyte stacked powerstages like they overdosed their engineers with way too much caffine and got high, which on one hand lets it handle the 9900K with ease but they forgot to wake up the programmers so the BIOS design is still... not really intuitive.

Asus Z390-H is a Z390-P's reskin, itself some random H or B chipset Prime board with overclocking support. Power delivery is not competitive at all, havent tried its memory OC but I'm not surprised if it does worse than what you would expect from Coffee Lake.

Asus Z390-A is a downgraded Z390-F/E (whichever doesn't support wireless),  features worsened but VRM and memory OC capabilities are similar (until you put a pro behind the monitor)

MSI is just like the balance between everything, decent mosfets, big heatsinks, a user interface designed for normal humans and not techies only. Sadly this also means there's nothing worth bragging about, its mosfets are still not as powerful nor efficient as powerstages on the Gigabyte Aorus and Asus Z390-A boards, but the BIOS, while designed differently to Asus, is still somewhat intuitive and easy to learn.

Though talking about wasting money for nothing, you can't really go worse than investing on a soon dead platform. 10th gen is already in rumoured stage, which means its official launch will be within half a year.

this, because it's just $2.5. If something's selling for that cheap, something must be wrong.

Cash if you don't urgently need anything. Don't have him buy something just so he can bring you something.

    It doesn't matter.

All have more power then you need. (Check https://outervision.com/b/mgf3cD)
    All are from known brands.
All have  a 90+ Gold rating.

Pick the brand you like or the cheapest one.
    There is no difference.

PS. The Cooler Master V1000 1000W Gold (RSA00-AFBAG1-EU) is overkill anyway. exept you are planing to do 1080 4 way SLI

Avoid freaking shit ass gaming headset, they all shit, if someone come up with saying "gaming headsets better" then they have no idea what the audio quality is.

Get Ath-m40x or if you can extend your budget get the ath-m50x.

Ath-m50x is the best headphone so far, you can use it on everything.

Power supply not needed but recommended due to overclocking the CPU and allow for future upgrades w/o worry. ( completely up to you )

I know you want Intel, but for the money AMD is way ahead at the moment.

CES just happened AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen rumored to launch Summer 2019 - might want to wait to upgrade, maybe even save few more dollars to see what happens when it launches.

Bottom line: Don't buy Intel just cause "Intel" if you're looking to do anything production wise ( video editing ) more cores for cheaper is a better value and you won't lose enough on gaming to notice by going with AMD especially if you take the time to overclock the chip which is relatively safe to do these days.

edit: You can re-use your CPU cooler according to it's SPEC as long as you still have all of the mounting hardware you didn't use.

StanicEnemy reacted to Princess Luna in Why amd RX580-590 is cheap?
nVidia and AMD only does the graphical processing chip, and their reference card (in this case yes the nVidia Founders Edition reference card is superior to the AMD Reference card).

All the other cards are manufactured by third party like EVGA, MSi, Zotac, Sapphire, XFX, ASUS and so on... where only the graphical processing chip is either AMD / nVidia and all the rest is from those brands listed to decide on.

They will have more premium cards than others then it's up to you to find what you want.

This is part of what I call the "Linus Tech Support" problem. People see that users who have tech knowledge can provide free help, and they take advantage of that. I personally feel like the user count on the main page is utterly useless for this reason, since many many users come and either post a single time or only post tech support problems.
