  1. I did a test disabling SMT on my CPU. When I do this, I end up with a 4 cores / 4 thread CPU. I've read that Valorant is coded to handle 4 threads anyways, so it made sense to me to test it. There I see CPU rising to close to 100%. My conclusion is that when I use 4 cores / 8 threads, it splits the work, but it's able to achieve more.
  2. What I'm wondering is how people are getting 300+ FPS in this game. I think it's all in the CPU, and mostly Intel beefy ones. I'm thinking Intel is giving more in the Single Core performance and that Valorant cannot boost as much with AMD. I will be upgrading my CPU with the next AMD Gen I think.
  3. Yes. Both set. My GPU Boosts while in the Menu, but never in the game. It's stupid.
  4. Well, in 3dmark it ran without issues. The GPU was 99% when needed and the CPU was super high when needed. I have the 20th score out of 64 for this CPU/GPU combination and I'm above average (without any OC). It seems it might be a limitation in Valorant, or because it's a more CPU intensive game, I'm more at a disadvantage with my 3400G. I'm not sure why a pure 3400G using it's APU would be more stable than my setup however, this is confusing to me.
  5. Wow, he's more stable, I have higher peaks and lower valleys. The Cores are running under 50% most of the times, but his GPU (APU) is running at 95-100 %. Could my issue be power related ?
  6. Well in my video, you have all cores. Non seems to max out.
  7. Interesting post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/VALORANT/comments/fxlcxu/riot_pls_valorant_doesnt_use_100_of_the_gpu_and/ Can the CPU be that much of a limiter even if utilisation / temps stay that low ? I have this, in the menus I have 300-350 FPS. Also this post is old, they FPS drop issues in the past. In my case, I have low FPS and drops. Not high FPS and drops.
  8. Well, I kinda play Valorant only. I could run Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and see. I'm trying to find a comparable benchmark. I should be better than this: All of my drivers / BIOS are up to date. I ran the DDU utility to be sure. I reinstalled Valorant after DDU. When I run a benchmark the GPU will go up to 95-100. PC Building (my first) seems to be an inexact science. Thanks, I'll take any help I can get.
  9. So, the video was at 1080p with a 144Hz screen with G-Sync Compatible (not as the initial post). Also, I think I raised to High before the video, it doesn't really changes my FPS. Heck I had similar FPS at 1440p 75Hz. Would really like to find what could be bottlenecking my hardware ... Thanks.
  10. Ok, now it should be fine. It's still processing, but should post this time. Had to add some crappy music to cover the sound, I had only my mic recorded. Well wait for HD to process LOL. In 360p we don't see the benchmarking overlay.
  11. Yes, just saw it this morning. Recorded a whole game. Reuploading.
  12. Hi, the video is processing on Youtube at the moment. I'm going to bed.
  13. Hi, will try. I can tell you my GPU runs under 50 % at the moment. CPU usage total is also under 50 %, cores will rise over 70 % from time to time. It's weird to me that my CPU would bottleneck that much.
  14. So, to comeback to this topic, my average FPS in Valorant is around 115 FPS in 1080p with medium settings. Both my CPU & GPU are overclocked. I cannot find a benchmark for the same combination, but this one is 2600x vs my 3400g : He averages over 200FPS in 1080p with max settings. According to this site, I should have a 6 % drop in FPS with my CPU. https://www.gpucheck.com/en-usd/compare/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1650-super-vs-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1650-super/amd-ryzen-5-2600x-vs-amd-ryzen-5-3400g/medium/medium/-vs- I get it depends on the game, but I get half of his FPS, this is not closed to 10 % drop. My ram is also 3200 mhz. What could be the issue, how can I figure out if and where I have the issue ?
