Currently I have Gigabyte Z68XP-UD5, i7 2600K, 16GB of DDR3 RAM and GTX 1060 6GB.
While I am playing CoD Modern Warfare I encounter constant stuttering and fps drops, so I locked my FPS to 60 ( I do have 60Hz monitor) but I still get stuttering , especially in Ground War mode. I am pretty sure it is because of my CPU since in task manager usage on my GPU never goes above 40% while CPU is at 60% ,sometimes even jumps to 80-100% usage. It might be that thermal paste has dried out or something, but i dont know much about this stuff .
My question is, do you guys think that CPU is the problem with my PC and should I get some new/used lower/middle of the pack CPU,Motherboard and RAM for now and wait to buy a new PC around november ( I think I should wait for the new 3000 series from Nvidia, maybe some new CPU and DDR5 memory,if that gets released this year) or dont buy anything now and just wait for the new stuff?
Also if you guys could recommend some CPU,Motherboard that wont be overkill for 1060 but it also wont bottleneck it,since I dont know what look for and how to know if that will happen or not.
Thank you in advance
