Good evening!
I'm new here, so I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section of the Forum.
I'll try and keep this short and simple.
I'm about to build my second PC ever on my own, and this time I would like to update the BIOS on the motherboard. This is something I've never done before, and frankly, I'm a bit scared about doing this, as it is my first time. The motherboard is a Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE. I got a USB Stick formatted with FAT32 with the BIOS update files on it already. But what I would like to know is, when is the recommended time / order to update the motherboard BIOS when you build a new PC and install the components?
I've heard that you can do this before installing all the components into the new PC. So I'm wondering, can I just install the PSU + Motherboard into the case, and then just boot it up and update the BIOS, no need for the GPU, Memory or CPU to be installed?
I also bought 2x G.Skill Trident Z Neo 16GB DDR4 3600MHz CL16 Memory sticks, and I'm a bit confused about this "Infinity Fabric" I've heard about. I read that the recommended memory speed for Ryzen 3700X is 3600MHz, but that you need to set them to 1800MHz or something along those lines for Infinity Fabric, and I'm not even really sure what this Infinity Fabric is or if I should just enable this XMP thingie in the BIOS I've heard about?
I would also like to point out that I have never tempered with RAM Memory before either, so this is also a new territory for me, but I feel like this time I would like to take things one step further and learn more about these things, as they seem pretty important. I'm not really interested in Overclocking and pushing this system beyond the boundaries, I just want to get as much out of my memory without going off the chart, so that the system is quiet and stable.
If anyone here could help clear some of these things up for me, I would be really grateful. Also, keep in mind that I'm really new at this, so my knowledge is pretty limited compared to you guys.
