  1. My WD (WD20EZRX) 2tb HDD suddenly stopped working and no longer shows up in windows. I hooked it up to a mount and it showed the files for a few minutes and then no longer shows. I tried to transfer the files while it showed them but it would immediately crash. Some people can diagnose the issue by sound so I got this recording while it was hooked up to the mount. It seems like its still being powered even though it is no longer detectable. I'm pretty tech savvy so I'm willing to buy an identical drive and replace the parts, though I'm leaving this as a last resort. Hard Drive sounds.m4a
  2. I just turned off all my startup programs and none of that fixed the issue, so nothing could've been running. Still no answer to this weird problem.
  3. The only way to fix it is to restart, so I have no option to. I tested it and it happens even right after the restart, so I can't imagine anything starting up that can cause this issue. Here's a list of everything at startup
  4. Every time I hit the buttons "alt" and "C" together, my Intel HD graphics (4600) crashes, resulting in my second monitor turning off which is plugged into motherboard via VGA. I usually do this by accident while playing video games. My first monitor plugged into my graphics card still works fine though, so I can continue on playing. I still need that second screen though. I tried installing new Intel graphics drivers, but that didn't fix it. Any ideas what could be causing this?
  5. Recently, both my monitors would randomly lose signal. Sometimes right away after booting, sometimes after a few hours. They don't turn back on until I restart the computer, sometimes. One monitor is plugged into my graphics card (gtx780) using mini display port, and the other is plugged into my motherboard using vga. It's always worked before for a year, but something is making them both lose signal simultaneously. Computer still runs in the background, I was able to turn a YouTube video on and off by guessing where to click.
  6. For sure. Good thing I work at Best Buy and get them for like 3 dollars lol
  7. Not a bad idea. I switched out the ethernet cord and so far no lag spikes lol
  8. I get ethernet lag spikes on my PC every half hour or so. Its very annoying, especially since it crashes my hyper light drifter game and gets me killed in csgo. My internet would cut out for about 5 seconds and return to normal. I have an ASUS AC3100 and Verizon FIOS. I used to have Comcast and had the same problem. I switched to Verizon and got a new modem, and the problem stayed. So it can't be my service provider. I just tested whether its my router by plugging in an ethernet laptop and a wireless laptop. When I got the lag spike on my computer, everything still worked on both laptops (I check by trying to make a skype call to my gf's phone). So it's definitely my computer. I have an Asrock Z87 killer mobo with the latest win10 64bit network driver. Any ideas of what might be causing it?
  9. I tried that too. All the files are split it into thousands of smaller files making them irretrievable. I don't think I'll get anything back, what I'm more concerned about is what happened so I can prevent this from happening or avoid it. Did my hdd fail? Is it steam software? I just wanted to know if anyone else had this issue and what they did
  10. I moved steamcmd over from my C drive to my D drive. Then I updated my ark server through steamcmd. That's the last thing I remember doing involving files. I check and 1.3tb of files got deleted. Windows has recovery set to off by default on secondary drives, so I cant go back. There was nothing in trash can either. Anyone else ever experience anything like this?
  11. I successfully updated to Windows 10, and checked for updates. It downloaded cumulative update, but failed at installation and canceled
  12. I tried running la noire without .net 3.5, but it didn't even start up. It prompted me to install 3.5, but gives me an error message
  13. When I updated to Windows 10 and tried updating, it started downloading cumulative Windows update, but failed every time it tried to install. And gave me an error message
