  1. Tried it, even reinstalled windows. Nothing worked. Thanks for the advise though.
  2. Hello! I apologize if this is the wrong place to post, but hear me out. The Problem: Touchpad doesn’t work in “Advanced” mode. The “Basic” mode works though with poor finger tracking. So no gestures. Device Manager shows “This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed.” The driver is the latest according to windows update. Screenshot attached. Synaptics Driver can be installed, however, it shows the following error- “No drivers are installed for this device.“ Screenshot attached. No effects seen on uninstalling and reinstalling the device or disabling and re-enabling the device. Physically detaching and reattaching the touchpad cable does not have any effect either. I have tried reinstalling all accessory drivers as well including Intel Serial I/O driver and Intel Chipset drivers, with no success. This problem has existed since the very beginning with Windows 8 as well as Windows 8.1. If it matters, the laptop shipped with Linux installed, which was promptly removed in favour of Windows. OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Version: 1903 OS Build: 18362.657 System Specs: Acer Aspire V3-575G-58HX CPU: Intel i5 6200U @2.3 GHz RAM: 8 GB GPU: Nvidia GeForce 940M (Control Panel version 376.54) BIOS: Insyde v1.18 (Latest according to Acer’s website)
