  1. .... so you have a 2 to 8k gpu, i would assume that is for professional use, and cheaped out on amateur cpu.... the i series is and will always be a home series.. what you need is a decent workstation cpu...
  2. you have to clone all boot partitions too. so basicaly the entire disk it's most likely a recovery partition at the end then so move that to the end of the disk and then expand C
  3. well.. wish i had 14900ks.. so i could test it for you.. but the stability issue, still sounds very much like a combination of bad luck in the silicone lottery, mainboard not able, ram not capable.. you never mentioned what mainboard and ram you try to do this on. i think most won't run dedicated tasks on specific threads, or have professional cpu's like threadripper pro or xeon handling tasks like those. The rest are all just gaming
  4. BTW.. PL1 is 150w on ks and 125w on k .. not 253w copied an article from 3dguru
  5. try posting it to the video creator, he has a few 14900ks.. it's not that old video so you should be able to get a reply.
  6. i found this video on your topic.. and find it among the better to explain your problem.
  7. no clue... but work slower?.. seems like it takes a few sec to load...
  8. Hi.. no turning indexing on usually solves it.. but it sounds like it was already on.. windows uses some resources when your not active to index your disks. It will not finish before some time after you install windows if you have other drives with data it needs to index.
  9. well.. i wouldn't mix nvidia and amd gpu's.. that's why DDU was created to get everything out before running the other. guess you found out the hard way. in intel igpu would work, or a secondary nvidia card.
  10. sounds like a driver issue... i havn't had mine connected for ages.. but did you install latest logitech gaming software? have you calibrated it?
  11. try to follow this one? and this is the spec you need to follow. https://edc.intel.com/content/www/us/en/design/products/platforms/details/raptor-lake-s/13th-generation-core-processors-datasheet-volume-1-of-2/processor-line-thermal-and-power-specifications/
  12. if you don't set the max to 253w by intel spec to the cpu you will need a full custom loop to cool it.
  13. in my TT ah t600 case it's called a nut setter.. the standard size of a mb standoff is 3/16 inch so if you get a 5mm drill bit socket, it should fit in your LTT driver.
  14. yeah.. but when it has finished reindexing your system it should unless it's new files never show wrong content of a directory..
  15. turn on legacy boot, and it should boot up. EDIT: ah see you had it on CSM already. GPT should only works with UEFI boot. So you would have to set it to UEFI only. Secure boot is not needed for it to boot, and usually only possible with UEFI only enabled. if it was an old legacy system it should generaly be no problem cloning, but UEFI can be tricky, when cloning you have to clone the entire disk as you need the EFI, and recovery partitions too, If you for some reason don't have those it won't boot. I would when starting with a new mainboard always recommend a fresh install on a blank disk, with only one drive installed, as windows likes to create itself and all it's partitions to make it run properly and have the partitions configured correctly.
  16. UEFI can block access from other hardware than original. do yourself a favour if it's a new mainboard, install it fresh on a m.2 nvme drive. that usually are 5-20 times faster than an old SSD, depending on what gen PCIE they are. disconnect all other drives during the install.
  17. have you set any color's for your rgb yet? is it different or same cable for both rgb controllers? argb only goes in one way so hard to do that wrong. inspect the cable for damage.
  18. sound like some power management setting isn't quite right, for RGB.
  19. that actually makes it a different diagnose....
  20. btw.. with steam ubisoft and other game loaders, you can backup the game data.. if you have space on your harddrive i would copy the game data there.. and restore it after a reinstall. and for drivers... i would use powershell and type Export-WindowsDriver -Online -Destination D:\Drivers before you start this D:\drivers can be where every you want it.. to reload drivers quick. go in device manager and just load drivers and point to the directory you choose..
  21. my system drive has one 499MB partition(recovery) a 100MB EFI partition ahead of C: and a 650MB recovery partition in the end of it. so you would need 600mb in front free space, and 650 mb at the end of the disk.
  22. to do that you will have to shrink your windows partition in the front and back to fit them in. i've never realy tried that but if you do that and disable your other disks so it's not booting anymore, use the install USB to repair the install, that could possibly fix it. my system drive has one 499MB partition(recovery) a 100MB EFI partition ahead of C: and a 650MB recovery partition in the end of it. so you would need 600mb in front free space, and 650 mb at the end of the disk.
  23. try using https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo-uninstaller-free-download/ this one to clean up the junk settings it left behind.
