I hope this is the right channel. So i've had this weird problem for a while now and I need some help. I have this secondary pc that im building, and I cannot get it to post. Its a 2600 and 1070 build. Initially, I thought it was the motherboard's fault, however, I am now on my second rma board. I began testing the components on my main rig, which has a debugging light on the mobo, and I have noticed one strange thing. When I try to boot with the 1070 in there, the debugging light never gets past the "vga" even tho the system posts after a couple seconds. Any ideas where the issue is coming from? Update: I just tried my 2060 in with the 2600 and 1 stick of ram out of my person rig, same issue. No signal and no power from the usbs on the motherboard. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I am planning on swapping components from a prebuilt i bought a couple of years ago. Right now i have an i5 6400 with a asus motherboard that came with the prebuilt. I was to switch these two components to an MSI tomahawk b450 max and a R5 3600. I understand how everything physically plugs in but i don't know how to do the software half of things. My boot drive right now is a 500gb ssd. I have heard different reports on whether i need to backup, deactivate windows, reinstall windows, etc. If someone could please walk me through all the steps that would be appreciated. Thanks
