Jack0f5pades got a reaction from lmao76 in How to get this case rgb to work with my a320m s2h?
According to that amazon listing, the case comes with a controller that changes the lights based on the 5v 3 pin addressable RGB header on your board. Only problem is, the a320m-s2h doesn't have an addressable RGB header. If you want to change the colors, you'll have to make use of the reset switch connector, or upgrade your board.

On a side note, the a320m-s2h is a good board for extreme budget systems, but considering the fact that you're running a 3rd gen Ryzen chip in a first gen board, which wasn't even supposed to be compatible, I'd recommend upgrading your board to one that has better power delivery, upgrade paths, and an addressable RGB header to make your fans work correctly

Jack0f5pades got a reaction from G_K in I want to buy a VR headset but which one ?
The cheapest around is the quest 2, but I have a multitude of personal gripes against that headset. Uncomfortable controllers, the process for setting it up to work with PC is a pain, and the controllers go through AA batteries super fast. I saved for an index and I couldn't love it more. I'd recommend to newcomers the cheapest mainstream HTC headset they can get their hands on, most of the time that's a used OG Vive. If you go with a vive, you can also repurpose the old controllers into makeshift vive trackers should you ever choose to upgrade. Plus, base station tracking will always be superior to inside out tracking, and it's much easier to connect to PC. Again, it all comes down to personal preference. If you don't like having a cable, then the quest 2 with virtual desktop is pretty much the only option right now, despite all its drawbacks.

I got a Wraith Prism for my 3600 for the exact same reason. AIOs were expensive and tower coolers were ugly. The Wraith Prism has more than enough TDP rating to cool the 5600x iirc. I'd just recommend buying one from the official AMD Amazon page because if you buy one off ebay like I did and then it fails for some reason, it will be much harder to replace or refund, even if it is a bit more expensive.

Jack0f5pades got a reaction from AryazHere in Upgrading time (Soon-ish)
I recommend possibly doing a small upgrade now (a compatible i7, for instance) and saving up to upgrade everything at once, but if you're only looking to upgrade your board and CPU this is what most will recommend.

According to au.pcpartpicker, an MSI b450 tomahawk max (very popular B450 board for its good VRM cooling and large cache chip) and a ryzen 5 3600 (great 3rd gen Ryzen value for performance) total at just over $500 aud. If you don't want to spend that much, then the tomahawk max and a Ryzen 5 1600 AFBOX will cost $100aud less, but will only be slightly worse. Both processors are 6c12t and the 1600 runs on an older process with lower clocks, but is known to be a very good value part.

Jack0f5pades got a reaction from wamred in Newegg shipping being weird for anyone else?
Eleven days ago, I placed a large order from Newegg (.)com for a total of over $400USD. All items ordered were a SATA SSD, a PSU, a single stick of ram, a motherboard, and two desktop cases. It's now been 7 full business days since the order was first placed, and everything except for the two cases have arrived. In all, I now have every single part of an entire computer except for the case it's supposed to go in. The person I am building this system for is understandably upset that the computer that I was supposed to deliver tomorrow is missing the entire case.

I don't seem to be the only one having this issue, as I've seen lots of posts in the customer service section on their website asking about it. My specific problem is that Newegg says that the cases are waiting to be picked up by USPS, and USPS says they haven't been given anything to deliver. It's almost as if Newegg took money in exchange for items that they don't actually have in stock.

I understand that shipping times on non-essential items have been stretched out, but this goes beyond the already stretched out shipping times (3-5 business days went up to 5-7) I just wanna know when this stuff is coming in. What should I do? Keep waiting? Cancel my order and spend the extra $20 to buy the cases on Amazon? Try and look for the cases somewhere else? I need some input. Thanks

You might be able to get ahold of the guy doing the LTT folding blog. There's a bunch of giveaways going of keys for a bunch of people on the folding team that ends on the 10th. If you want the keys to go to a good cause, you might be able to give them to him to be given to people assisting the folding effort.

Scroll to the top of the page and look at the side bar on the right. There should be a single header that says "featured topics" and the only topic there is "LTT folding team's emergency response to COVID-19" this topic is the one where he announced the giveaway. Right under the title it says "by: GOTspectrum" and when you hover over the name, you should be able to click it to go to his profile. Actually now that I think about it, you could just click here. Once you're there, next to his name should be a box with the text "message" in it. Click that and compose a message to him saying you have keys you want to donate for the giveaway. He may or may not accept, but that's how to contact him. Hope this helps.

I have the exact same Gigabyte RX570 4g model that you are contemplating. In my opinion, as an RX570 user, I would go for the 1650 super. It has a lower TDP with a higher base and boost clock, as well as 4gb of GDDR6 instead of GDDR5 like the RX570.

I see, thank you. I wasn't sure if my current 550w PSU would run a Ryzen 5 3600 and a 2070 Super but if there are tools to calculate how much I'll need, I'll definitely check it out.

I 2/3 agree with this list but would switch out the 2600 for a 1600AF, since it's a large price difference for a very small performance difference. Other than that it looks golden. Edit: it occurred to me that PCPartpicker doesn't list the 1600AF for some reason,
