It is probably e-waste since you can't really produce something good and sell it really cheap, if you are okay with tossing it soon then you can buy it, I would rather spend a bit more and keep whatever you bought for a longer time.

I'll add also that having RTX and DLSS can often tank FPS if you forget to also not add a targeted limit to the FPS. GPU's and CPU's are often hardware wise made with the intention of pushing their MAX critical load. Hence giving them a roof to hit that they can't go over can make them a bit more stable and also reduce the symptoms of a unpleasant performance. Kinda why an FPS limit set to unlimited can be visually distracting and unstable with a lot of lower end cards is cause the natural hardware intention then is to try and reach the max throttle of FPS and performance if your hardware can't actually handle reacing said unlimited number it can make cards stall out or in worst cases. Just stall out and crash. The way to get the most out of hardware is to find out what your hardware can handle and then tinker with the settings to find a perfect well balanced equilibrium.

merco got a reaction from will0hlep in Wireless Headsets - Are there any good ones?
I'd say the SteelSeries Arctis 7+ Wireless might fit your bill, it's currently £120 in the UK, or have a look at the Logitech G Pro X Wireless which would be £150.

You can listen to the mic quality here:

Really good quality can't be achieved with a headset like that as was already mentioned, but I think it should be perfectly fine for what you are trying to do with it.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply. Precious information! I ended up going with the 5600. Thanks once again, really appreciate it.

merco got a reaction from Hi P in Are Ryzen "X" versions worth it?
Yes it always depends on the price too, if the 5600 is not on sale and you find the 5600x on sale for 10 bucks more, why not buy it? Usually the 5600 on sale will be even cheaper though if you can wait and look for deals. In the end you're gonna save 20 bucks here or there, it doesn't matter too much for 1 component, but If you do it for 5 components you save 100 bucks. I like looking for deals I think it's fun, but it's not for everyone. Sometimes you just don't want to wait.

The AM5 CPUs haven't sold that well yet, so prices will come down either way. Personally I would wait for the non X versions. I have bought the 3600 over the 3600x, the 3600 did everything I wanted from it and was cheaper, like was said before it depends on your use case.

You're missing out on some performance, is it worth $100?  Totally depends on you.   Not for 1440p though IMO.

I don't see an issue with your build but I am sure someone will offer a differing opinion about what is soo much better 🙂

Seems like a good deal, here the 12600kf is only 40€ cheaper. The Scythe Fuma 2 Rev.B looks pretty good in reviews, it should be a good fit and seems to be a quiet cooler in comparison to similar ones. I wouldn't worry about it the 3070 is a great card and the CPU is very capable for gaming.

Yeah, I've been following Linus for some years. His underlying ethic is great; especially liked how he tried to demonstrate ways for younger people to use their spare time to earn money for their upgrades. But as he said himself in, I think it was the last WAN show... he's changed. He's more used to barking the orders and getting things done... and there's a lot to be done in the organisation as of the last few years. More staff, LTT Store's gone nuts, the backpack, the screwdriver, the lab, the new buildings... and let's not forget the video where he nearly quit due to the strain. Not to mention the strain that the family and others close to him have been feeling ramp up over the years.

But your suggestion is a good one; I'll put the floatplane money to a good cause; there's so much going on with food bank use through the roof and stuff... a lot of people need a lot of support right now.

Harddrives are much better than SSDs.

They make a lot of noise, so you really feel like something is happening when accessing it.
They can also be really slow at accessing data, which means you've got enough time to get a coffee inbetween. You would not be able to do that with an SSD!
On top of that they're much heavier and can be used as a weight to train your biceps. With SSDs you'll continue to look like a week console gamer.

    😉

not sure if it has been mentioned before but I was looking at videos about coil whine and they suggest to try undervolting your card and also cap your FPS or even turn on gsync/freesync because it's worse at high FPS.

yes it sucks, I just looked at an old coil whine video and it does sound kinda similar, it's always hard to tell from a phone recording.

    see for yourself: https://youtu.be/HP73edpQwgc?t=101

I guess you could try and see if it also reacts to your camera movement in demanding games. Sadly there is not too much that you can do, try the card in a second system, try a different power supply maybe just change out the cables if you have extra cables (mandatory warning: always use the ones that came with your PSU). In the end you could always try to sell the card while communicating clearly that it suffers from coil whine, take a small L on the price and get a new card. I know it would be worth the money for me having peace of mind instead of constantly having to listen to an annoying sound.

Kinda sounds like an old hard drive to me. There aren't that many moving parts in a computer so it's either that or one of the fans.

That code seems pretty complicated for what you're asked to do. How about using AND (&&) and OR (||), rather than XOR?

    final boolean isCold = input.nextBoolean(); final boolean isDry = input.nextBoolean(); // For less mind-fuckery final boolean isHot = !isCold; if (isHot) { System.out.print("It is hot\n"); } if (isDry) { System.out.print("It is dry\n"); } if (isHot || isDry) { System.out.print("It is hot or dry\n"); } if (isHot && isDry) { System.out.print("It is hot and dry\n"); }

Keep in mind that sometimes there are specific instructions, like for example upgrading to a certain BIOS might need a different certain BIOS installed first. Usually the manufacturer will tell you right beside the bios as a note like this:

since yours is more recent it doesn't look like there is a problem since everything after F51 has no such note.

I'd see what a new rx 6600 costs in your country. It has about the same performance but it's brand new with warranty, consider that when you look at the price difference to a used 1080.

The Sapphire RX 6800 has a better cooler than the Asus RX 6800. This means that the card will have lower temperatures and/or less fan noise.

Sapphire generally has better customer support than Asus, so if your card dies you'll have more chance of getting a replacement with Sapphire than you'll have with Asus, though most EU countries have some good customer protection laws so I wouldn't really worry too much about that.
