Mored reacted to Hairless Monkey Boy in Why can I select UHD resolutions on my QHD monitor?
Probably for console compatibility. My ultrawide MSI monitor has the same thing, and it's a huge pita for some games that like to auto select that option. IMO PC monitors should not be designed with any console-centric features.

100% render resolution and the highest settings always(if you dont want your games to look bad that is)

Mored reacted to Helpful Tech Witch in Can Display Drivers just go bad? (3070 scare)
Usually it has to do with updating.
A update can kill a driver install from time to time.

Mored reacted to m9x3mos in Can Display Drivers just go bad? (3070 scare)
Also keep in mind that, just like other data on the computer, can get corrupted for a range of different reasons. If ddu and a clean driver install fixed it, I would lose sleep over it.

Mored reacted to CommanderAlex in Web Browser(s) flickering when game/program with borderless windowed is open.
No problem!!! I'm not really sure what multiplane overlay is, though it seems related to basically the overlay of applications on Windows 10 for this specific issue, think of applications and GUIs.

This is a known issue currently with the browsers and Nvidia drivers.

Just hoping that it has SLI support

Mored reacted to Senzelian in Updated Cyberpunk Requirements
Even with a GTX 1080 and a Ryzen 2700 I don't think I will be able to experience smooth gameplay at 1440p.
IIRC in the Witcher 3 I barely achieved 60FPS on high.
But I will upgrade before I play the game either way.
Edit:
Only 70GB of space required? That seems low. I was expecting 150GB.

Mored reacted to emosun in Updated Cyberpunk Requirements
Im so smug and happy that my 11 year old build running windows 7 is still supported lol

Mored reacted to PlayStation 2 in Updated Cyberpunk Requirements
I can't be all that surprised that the CPU requirements aren't that ridiculous, especially if CDPR is managing to shoehorn this game onto the Xbox One and PS4.

Mored reacted to minibois in Most city-building games don't have a story or its practically non-existent
In my opinion, with a city building game it's less about the story and more about what you make out of it.
When playing Sim City or Zoo Tycoon I make up my own story about my city/zoo, I don't want to be interrupted by pre-made story parts that might not fit with my idea of my city/zoo.

Mored got a reaction from BiG StroOnZ in Nearly done with my 2nd build, just wanting some feedback/suggestions.
Hello,
So I've just about finished the parts list for my second build (I am giving my current one away to my brother) and am ready to buy soon, but I wanted to come to you beautiful people for the last stage, to gather some feedback/improvements. Some things to note - This PC is basically going to be heavily used for gaming, with some animation and 3D work likely some time in the future. I'm aiming for 1440p/60+ FPS, with titles like CP2077 (RTX enabled), Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Hunt: Showdown, Rainbow 6: Siege etc. My budget is what you roughly see here (around $2400 AUD).
Ultimately my first build went pretty well but I remember having some slight compatibility issues, which is why I have decided to come here, for peace of mind. I already have the CPU cooler (Cryorig H7), another SSD and all my peripherals, so I'm already fine on all those. Thanks for the help in advance!

Mored reacted to dizmo in power supply for RTX 3090
I'd probably look at a 750w or 850w unit.
You also have to look at reviews of the PSU. Simple efficiency ratings don't tell you if it's good or not.

Mored reacted to TehDwonz in Good use for old PC?
If you don't have a use for it, sell it. Or, if you want to feel all fuzzy inside, donate it. That spec would be great for a poor kid's homework, or a struggling med student.

Mored got a reaction from Smallpoorgamer in Will this PC be able to stream/game?
Those 8 cores will do great for streaming with the x264 encoder as well as gaming. Also I recommend dialing down your ram to 16gb, 32gb is a bit overkill for this system. And as the others have said an SSD for your boot drive will do wonders, and you can keep the hard drive for your games.

Mored reacted to minibois in PC confessions
My confession: I have turned off a lot of my RGB lighting equipment. Or really most LEDs.
Only my keyboard lights are on. GPU, Mobo, mouse and RAM are all turned off. Pls don't prosecute me.
