DX 12 is not even rolled out yet, right? Why does it matter if it says 11 o 12?

PewPew122 got a reaction from Kiyuubi in Prevent Windows 10 from Auto-Updating Drivers (Temporary Fix)
I've been using Windows 10 since January and I noticed that Windows Update is having fun updating device drivers on it's own, due to the fact that Windows will do automatic updates. This feature is annoying if you like to keep certain old driver due to glitches or issues on newer ones. (Example: Nvidia driver 353.54 which was horrible) This may also conflict with other programs that do give you driver updates like GE Force Experience.

Found a way to fix this, however I find this to be a temporary solution since it may give you a bit of headaches if you change hardware on your PC later on.

Step 1: Do a Search on your start menu (or Cortana) for "Devices and Printers" and go there.

Step 2: Locate your PC on the device list and Right Click it. Select the "Device Installation Settings" option.

Step 3: Select "No, let me choose what to do" and then pick the "Never install driver software using Windows Update" option and click on Save.

    Done.

This will disable Windows update from installing any new drivers that may come out and mess your computer. I consider this only a temporary fix, because if you decide to add new hardware to your PC later (sound cards, raid cards, etc...) Windows will not be able to find a generic driver since you disabled it. In this case you might want to re-enable this feature while you install the new device or just manually install drivers from the device manufacturers web page. So far I've managed to avoid Windows Update from installing new NVidia drivers and let GeForce Experience handle graphic drivers like always.

Hope this helps if you had any driver issues with Windows Updates.

I would go with 1 x 8GB over 2 x 4GB anyday. Only because of the simple fact that you can save money to make it into a 2 x 8GB at any time.

PewPew122 got a reaction from Recon-UK in Well I found this Pentium 2......
Cleaning up my closet today I found my old 1997~98 Pentium 2 Packard Bell PC. I cleaned it up and it works miraculously. Unfortunately the HardDrive is dead... kinda expected that from a 15 year old PC. Now that I found this old piece of technology I want to do something cool to it instead of just throwing it away or putting it back to storage. In the end I think I am going to either upgrade some of its components (like PSU, Case, HDD, GPU, ect...) to use it as a Linux Box for shenanigans or do like a working Picture Frame PC and hang it on the wall as an art piece that I could still turn on and use if I wanted.

Anyways I wanted to know If anyone on the LTT page has ever OCed a Pentium 2 before and what tools would I need to do such a thing. I read in a couple of places that it is possible, but I can't find any specific information on what motherboard, bios or other tools they used to achieve it.

Here is a picture of it in case you want to see it.

    - Pentium 2 MMX 266 MHz
    - Trident 8 MB AGP Video Card w/ TV Out  (LOL)
    - 192 MB RAM (Not even sure which type... DRAM or w.e it's called)
    -  Aureal Vortex Sound Card
