  1. Update 2 It works! I don't know exactly what it was, but I unplugged everything, cleaned all the thermal paste, blew all the dust off the motherboard, and it started working again.
  2. CPU pins look fine to me. No signs of burn or anything. I have already reseated it. I guess I'll just go part by part cleaning and connecting again very carefully. There were some minor residues of thermal paste, maybe that's it.
  3. I was moving my entire desk with my computer and monitor over it and suddenly the screen and peripherals turned off. Fans kept spinning. I have seen this kind of behavior before, it indicates that the CPU is not working properly or the connection between the mobo and the CPU is having issues. I say this because the CPU light on the mobo is on. My theory is that some cable got disconnected while I was moving the desk. I have taken the entire mobo of the case and connected everything again with no success. Put the CPU out and in. Only one stick of memory. Right now I am waiting a few minutes with the cmos battery out. This is kind of frustrating since it was working perfectly. The CPU is a 5600 on a B450 motherboard. PSU is NZXT C750 gold. Any tips? Update: CMOS battery out for 15 minutes and still nothing. Here is a quick video. 20231219_213546.mp4
  4. It was worth the try, I still get the artifacts on timespy. I checked with Afterburner and the memory is supposed to be running at 1900 (950). I guess I will just install my 3060 again and feel sad that I got scammed.
  5. Like this? I'm not sure what is the setting for the memory timing, the only one that I see is called memory timing control.
  6. I don't see the option to downclock the ram within amd radeon or msi afterburner, it doesn't go lower than 2000. Is there any other way to do it?
  7. I bought this GPU used a few months ago. I was able to test it at the time of the purchase, a quick run of Heaven and all seemed to be ok. I had been running the card just fine for at least 1 month (it passed several stress test like 3 Dmarks Time spy and ran 3A games just fine), but now, it has started to artifact really bad. I have wiped the drivers using AMD cleanup utility and also used DDU in the past, when I swapped out my 3060. I think this could be related to VRAM according to what I can read online. I have discarded a cable problem because the issue happens with both of my monitors, using HDMI or DP. I have experienced similar issues in the past with my RX 570, and I was able to fix it by finding a good, stable driver. Idk if that's the case here, I might do a clean install of window 10, just in case. This is really sad, I guess, I won't be buying used ever again. Is there anything that can be done to save this card or solve this issue, I would appreciate the advice. 20230929 102034.m4v
  8. Thank you for the recommendation! I won't be using sleep on my PC from now on. I had Afterburner set to start with Windows, after disabling it, Adrenalin appears to be saving my settings. I have had an AMD GPU before, it was a great experience with some minor bugs related to my custom settings. It seems that Afterburner and Adrenalin access the same settings in the backend, and that can cause some conflicts.
  9. I also find that Adrenalin Settings are buggy for me as well. I try to set a custom fan curve, but it gets reset by itself. I will try to perform a clean windows install, and check if that helps.
  10. My PSU is 750 W, which is fine, but my UPS is just 900 VA (480W). I don't want to overload my UPS, I will get a new one, eventually. For now, I would like to lower the card energy consumption while maintaining decent performance.
  11. I just purchased a used 6800 XT to save money. It works fine with default settings as far as I can see. Heaven benchmark and 3D mark Time Spy look perfect, and the scores are great. The moment I try to undervolt and underclock the GPU, it starts showing artifacts. Maybe, I'm being too aggressive with the settings, the GPU is degraded or perhaps a software issue (NVIDIA gpu was installed before, I used DDU, but you never know). I wonder if the 6800XT, it is just not undervolt friendly or if I got a degraded unit. Default settings: 2354 MHz at 1150 mV. My custom settings: 2250 MHz at 1075 mV. I have tried more settings, always being conservative compared to the examples I have seen online. Is there a proper way to undervolt an AMD GPU? Maybe, I'm missing something here?
  12. Apparently uninstalling Wallpaper Engine helped because I was able to get a good Crystal Disk Mark Score (I couldn't even get scores before) and I managed to update Overwatch 2. I still want to update the firmware but even though I manually uninstalled the SATA Driver in order to get the Windows one, the tool is still not working.
  13. I tried to do that, apparently, there is one, but it doesn't detect any SATA drive, even when opened as admin.
  14. 668 gb of free space and I attach the screenshot of Hard Drive Sentinel
  15. Patriot Burst Elite 960 GB, like 4 months old and the space utilized is 225/894 on Windows.
  16. Yea, Dota 2 takes forever to update (less than 20 mb), I have stutters in the game, it takes a lot of time to complete almost any action that is related to the drive. Moving game files, updating, pausing a download. I wouldn't care to see it at a 100% if it had snappy performance. The thing is that even after completing an action, it stays a very long time at 100%.
  17. As shown in the image below, I have an SSD that goes all the way up to 100% when opening any program stored in it. It's not even my main drive, I bought just to store games. Any idea on why is this happening and how to solve it?
  18. Basically all I do on my PC is gaming (Apex and Dota 2 with the occasional triple A tittle here and there). I would like to set my monitor with a colorful and enjoyable image, I don't really care about accuracy, just give me all the colors! I'm not sure if I need to set my monitor to the color Space General or DCI. Reading some reviews, it seems that Standard Mode delivers good settings, but I'm not completely sure. These are the reviews that I found: Acer Nitro XV272U KVbmiiprzx Review - RTINGS.com Acer Nitro XV272U KVbmiiprzx Monitor Review: Your Money’s Worth | Tom's Hardware (tomshardware.com) Can someone confirm if general color space is the right one?
  19. Thanks for the time you took to write this. I appreciate your insight in the topic. I have personally owned Asrock and MSI AM4 boards. They all have minor issues, that's to be expected on budget parts, for sure. I also have built with B450 Arous M boards for my family, but they are a bit on the pricey side right now on my country. I know they work fine with R5 3600, fine enough to the point I have never had to give them tech support. Furthermore, I was wondering if it would be worth it to pay more money for the TUF branded B450M, VRM sucks on all of them, but maybe the feature set would justify paying more. And also, looks play a small part in the decision-making. I'll wait for a few days and see if they re-stock B450M motherboards and look if there's anything better. DS3H and Aourus M are into consideration for the moment.
  20. I get that, it's kinda hard to know for sure with any product, even more when it's a budget one. I know the VRM is pretty weak from the motherboard tier list and a quick google search shows ok results. I guess there's only one way to find out, since there doesn't seem to be many expert reviews on entry level boards.
  21. Yea, I figured that's just marketing BS. I'm not really asking for much, as long as it works reasonably fine, I don't need industrial grade stability or anything, and last for several years. But if there has been good experiences in general with low failure rates, they are probably ok for my use case.
  22. I'm aware of the VRM limitations on this entry to mid level motherboards. I don't think I will ever try to use a 12/16 core CPU with these boards. The CPU will be my current 2700 that I know for a fact, is not very power hungry on stock settings and maybe room for 5700X in a very distant future, if my cousin ever decides to upgrade. Which I don't think he will.
  23. The case has already been purchased. I'm building the PC for a cousin, and he locked his mind for that case, so It has to be Micro-ATX. Yea, I'm also looking at those. I'm trying to make sure I get a board that will last and work with no issues. Is the Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX a solid choice? It seems on the low-end site of things. I wouldn't like to spend a ton of money, but I'd still want a decent board.
