Maybe you could get a glass case like tecware's VXR one and just fill it with RGB, then it will look any colour you want?

4 DIMMS =/ 4 memory modules. Ryzen desktop processors are only dual channel memory, leaving Threadripper and EPYC quad-channel memory support.

To the OP, you might see an increase in performance using 4 DIMMS over 2.

Yes this is fine, assuming your signature is accurate and you're using a 5900x for your CPU?

I liked my GTX 580 so much i bought two of them and ran in SLI. Could keep my whole flat warm with those babies!

Against all odds I got a XFX SWFT Radeon RX 6700 and while its the most powerful card I've ever owned, I cant help feeling its not as good as it should be.

Keeping an eye out for the 3070Ti if that's still going to be a thing.

Put it in the front of the case, and put the fans in front of the rad so you can see your pretty RGBs.

Honestly, I don’t have anything against the mount itself. However, I had wanted to mount a horizontal reservoir under the GPU. So changing how I mount the GPU changes a lot more then just two runs.

ObsidianAura got a reaction from boggy77 in Asus ROG Strix B550-A & NZXT H510 Elite
The basic H510 is not that bad, its pretty actually pretty good for GPU airflow when configured with just two fans top and rear as extraction running negative pressure, at that point airholes near the front are saturated and no amount of front fans will improve it.

The but yeah the H510 Elite is stupid. It's got front RGB fans that do nothing but look pretty. One advantage of the 510 Elite is you can replace the front tempered glass with a custom mesh and get a lot more airflow but if you're going to that you're better off just getting different case in the first place.

ObsidianAura got a reaction from TechTheseHips in Why should i defragment my Pc !?
Windows 10 has a built in defrag program that is harmless, if you have an SSD it wont defragment the drive it'll only give you the option to "optimise" which TRIMs the drive.

Providing you are running an up to date windows 10 install and your drivers are not messed up somehow, you shouldn't have to worry.

By the way, if you're worried about losing your stuff, I'm guessing that means you're not backing it up. YOU NEED TO BACK UP STUFF YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE!

Maybe sign up to backblaze or buy a NAS or something 😛

I think installing and using TestDisk is what I'd try next, use it to delete the partition table

I think people are over complicating this before we have all the info.

I'm going to assume the simplest and most likely scenario for the OP.

The OP had an old router, probably with an IP of 192.168.0.1 which is now gone and been replaced with a new router.
The new router has an IP of 192.168.1.1
The computer has grabbed a new IP address via DHCP and now has leased 192.168.1.5 as its IP address.

The OP has tried to use a browser to visit the IP address 192.168.0.1 which wont work obviously, and also 192.168.1.1 which should work but isn't.

Noctua compatibility tool would have shown notes on motherboard fitment were there any.

Noctua coolers come with a tube of its thermal compound. Little point in getting something else.

Consider getting a 2x16GB memory kit. Leaves option to upgrade memory. Also consider DDR4-3600 CL16. This seems to be a sweet spot for the cpu.

I would have at least one intake fan.

ObsidianAura reacted to YoAdrian in I have an NVMe USB enclosure and want extra storage for the new Xbox Series X when it comes. What's a good enough 1TB NVMe for USB 3.0?
Updates would be greatly appreciated Obsidian.  NVME USB enclosure compatibility with the new XBox Series X/S IS NOT A GIVEN (though it should be) and will be on many folks' minds I'll wager as time goes by.  It's on mine, especially since my first attempt to add external storage to the XBox failed.

I am not the expert, but I've found the most thorough discussion currently going is on a different forum (anandtech), but to summarize:
Each enclosure controller, and controller version, and firmware version (arg!) has had its problems, but things seem to be improving IF you can get the most recent chips and firmware.  Older firmware versions seem to be related to lots of stability and sleep problems.
    - Realtek RTL9210 vs RTL 9210B ok with firmware 1.21.17?  My Orico had this one.
    - JMicron JMS583 A0 vs A1 vs A2 ok with firmware 2.0.9? Other Oricos and Sabrents use this.
    - ASMedia ASM2362 w/ ? firmware?  I believe the Asus Arion uses this.

    My limited experience thus far:
    - My Orico enclosure (with Realtek RTS9210, unknown firmware version) locked up on me within two days of setting it up on the XBXS.
    - Sabrent EC-NVME arrives tomorrow, supposedly with JMicron's JMS583 controller.  We'll see how that works.

Digital Foundry did tests using the Asus ROG Strix Arion NVMe enclosure which is why I ordered it, so I'm hoping it'll work. I'm assuming the type of NVMe inside the enclosure doesn't matter.

It'll be delivered tomorrow so I'll report back here in case it helps others.

I’ve had issues with UGREEN adapters also......if it’s not a PC, the 2.5 SSD/SATA UGREEN adapters can be finicky and/or don’t seem to work right on other devices like stand alone media players (probably from driver issues or nonexistent drivers) or cloning drives via cloning boot software...

To be honest, the simplest thing, though security wise is would be a bit iffy, you'd want a complex password and to take other steps too...

You could have an always on PC running teamviewer (or similar) on the network then just check things through that machine.

Not ideal at all but a quick workaround.

Technically it does, otherwise the meat wouldn't cook at all. Heat is being pulled from the CPU shield to the meat. If you kept replacing the meat with fresh bits it would still be better than nothing.
