  1. Would an Integrated GPU be able to stream 4K content through plex well? If internet speed is a concern I do have 1 gig internet
  2. I figured it would be easier for me to just use what I already had as I mentioned these were parts I already had from a previous build and decided to hold on to and didn't want to go through the trouble of selling at the time as I was moving and switching jobs. The basement will be pretty cool as I am in North....like very north New York state. Side note we are planning to go solar as for the energy concerns, if that matters. But this is something for me to think about when it comes to possibly selling and starting fresh, thanks for the input.
  3. Budget (including currency): $400 USD, to buy remaining parts Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Main Usage - Backup server for 2 people's PC, Plex streaming Sever (4K), File sharing with just 1 person across the country Future Usage(possibly) - Home surveillance footage storage & hosting game server for my online friends only Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So here's where it gets a little interesting as I currently already have parts saved over from upgrading my PC and the wife PC. I previously had a build with two (please don't judge me lol) RTX 3090 but I upgraded to the RTX 4090 and was going to sell both 3090 but only sold 1 and decided to hold on to the other. I upgraded my CPU to Intel 13900K and swapped out my wife's old CPU with my previous one so she went from an AMD 3600 to 5800. Along with that, I upgraded my PSU. So below is the list of parts I already have going towards this home server build: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600 PSU: Thermaltake 750 80+ Bronze GPU: XC3 RTX 3090 In short, I would like a recommendation with the remaining parts for the server. The server will most likely be sitting down in the basement in a storage/utility closet, once the basement is finished, connected to a switch. Also, if someone has a good network switch recommendation for home use with at least 8 ports, as I plan on running ethernet cables through my walls down to the basement from specific rooms, that would be most welcome as well, thanks in advance.
  4. If curious I did end up going with the HiFiman Edition XS. I love it can't complain so far. I also did get a Modmic Wireless, thanks for the information, you guys.
  5. As the title show, I am trying to decide between these three headphones to replace my old one, which was the Audeze Mobius. (my wife may or may not have taken them from me ). The main use will be a mixture of gaming, (No FPS or competitive games) watching videos & discord/team calls...but mainly gaming. I am aware that 2 of these would require a Modmic as well. The headphones will be used on PC, no console gaming, and also I should mention I do already have a GSX 1000 audio amp as well. Thanks for any assistance or advise.
  6. Hey thanks for the input if you was curious I am going to pull the trigger on the 13900KF(save a few buck with the KF lol) and getting DDR5 RAM as well, appreciated.
  7. Thanks for the input. The MPG Z790 carbon motherboard is only an intel motherboard so AMD would be off the table for now.
  8. So I recently just upgraded my motherboard and GPU (4090 Gaming X Trio & MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI) and I am trying to decide which CPU to pair with them. I am currently eyeing either the 12900K or 13700KF, but with that said I do have the budget for the 13900K if that seem better for my usage. Currently the main use will probably be for gaming but with that I am currently starting to work with Unreal Engine and looking to learn Blender in the near future and so I am thinking which CPU would work best for those use cases now & in the future. Would love some input for you guys, girls and non-binary pals, thanks in advance.
  9. I have been searching for a new headset to replace my now broken Cloud Orbit S (I broke it ) and after 2 weeks of searching for a headset/Headphone at or around $400 I think I have narrowed it down to these 2. I haven't been able to come across anyone comparing these two headsets, other than rtings site comparison tool, so I wanted to see anyone happen to have used both or just happen to insight or knowledge of audio to help me make a decision. My main use will be for PC only (gaming, video, etc) I would also want to use it for work (meetings, phone calls, etc). Coming from my old headset the Orbit S and also currently using the Audeze Penrose X wireless as my console(s) headset I'm not sure if planar magnetic drivers are better drivers than dynamic drivers so maybe that something someone can enlighten me on as well, thanks in advance.
  10. So far I have been leaning towards these: Audeze Mobius Steelseries Nova Pro HIFIMAN SUNDARA (no mic so I'm on the fence) Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro Open Studio (also no mic but also out of my range but heard good things so considering) I would like something with a USB-C or at least 3.5mm so I can use USB-C cause sometime I do use my headset when talking in long meetings on my phone.
  11. So I don't know much about AMP/DAC but do they make the sound of any headset better or are they only required for specific headset? And I always thought they was mostly something only people who stream needed.
  12. I am currently in the search for a new pair of PC headset, unfortunately my recent pair took a fall and broke. I would love some suggestions on finding a great pair and I do have things that can help narrow the search. So my previous headset that I'm coming from are the HyperX Cloud Orbit S and I don't mind spending up to around $400 for my new pair. Like the title says I do NOT play competitive FPS, a lot of the headset reviews I come across have FPS as the main focus with gaming(hearing footsteps, etc.), and so for me I will mainly be using them playing story driven or coop games. I do play some FPS but again NOT for the PvP modes(Destiny 2, Back 4 Blood, Cyberpunk, etc.) With that I am also not interested in the Astro headsets. And I am looking for one with a mic as well. Any help and suggestions is appreciated.
  13. My case is the Thermaltake View 71 TG. The last picture is closer to what it looks like now. Haven't taken any recent pictures: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/DmpG3C
  14. So let's be clear I fully understand the "proper" setup for air flow would be intake front, bottom & side fans with exhaust fans as back and top. But I was curious about possibly switching my back fan to intake to blow fresh air over my RTX 3090 VRAM to maybe help with temps. The back of my PC sit close to a window and with it being winter I get some cold air coming in , sometime I'll crack my window to help but not often though. My CPU is water-cooled and do not have a heatsink with fan on it as I figured that would be the main problem with having your rear fan as intake it would cause conflict with it. Just want to get yall thoughts, comments. Cool
