  1. Update: I found the REAL root of the problem. I only had the main board mounted with one screw. That caused the other side of the board, which had the display connector, to lift up causing the display connector to come loose. I've now put the phone back together with some more support for the other side of the board, and I've subjected it to some stress tests including excessive g-forces, and it works perfectly normally. Again thank you @AaronThomas for your help solving the problem!
  2. WOW! I just got home and tried this. I opened it up and applied pressure to the display connector while testing the screen and it WORKED!!! I also tried relieving pressure to see what happened and it stopped working. This happens consistently too, so I think you got it! Thanks so much! I haven't figured out a way to make it work in everyday use yet, but at least I found the problem now. I never would've thought it'd be something like this, so again thanks so much!
  3. Hello! I just made an account in hopes that someone here could figure out the problem I'm having. So I recently replaced the screen on my OnePlus 2, and after putting it back together, the digitizer started only working in a strange way. to make an input happen, you have to press the screen for roughly 1.5 seconds. After you've held the screen down for this arbitrary amount of time, the phone will accept your input like normal, until you let go of the screen. once you let go, the same process repeats and you have to hold the screen down to make the phone accept another input. The time that it takes to accept an input remains the same until you press the lock button and the screen turns off. Once you unlock the phone again, the same problem persists. However, sometimes (seemingly at random) the screen will work completely normally. It will continue to work normally until you lock the phone again(and the screen turns off), then the same process repeats. Also, sometimes the time it takes to make the phone accept an input (by holding down on the screen) will be more like 4-5 seconds, and it can be anywhere in between. But once the screen is on, that time stays consistent. As one would normally think at first, I thought that I got a bad screen. So I went ahead and bought another one, from a different seller. Today, I installed that screen, and the EXACT SAME PROBLEM happened. This leads me to believe that it is not a problem with the screen, but rather something else inside the phone. Some other things that might be important, I have opened and disassembled this phone several times before. This is not the first screen replacement this phone has had, I've probably replaced this screen 5 times at this point. Also, there is 1 thing I missed during the screen replacement that started the issue. There's a little sticky black non-conductive thing that covers the battery terminal and one other terminal. I lost that little sticker thing, and replaced it with a piece of tape. There's also a gold colored piece (looks like gold foil) that bridges between 2 connectors. That gold colored piece has been taken off and reapplied so many times that it is very loose. I think that's all the information I have. I can record a video of the problem happening if that would work better than my explanation. I would really appreciate any insight as I'm totally lost as to the cause of this issue. I really want to hold on to this phone for as long as possible too! Thanks so much for your help in advance! -Ryan
