  1. What cpu/gpu combos would be good for playing Minecraft at 1440p at 144hz? Ideally, I could use ray tracing with it but not necessary. I'm looking for the cheapest CPU and GPU combo to consistently achieve that performance (and hopefully have some longevity to them)(I'm willing to put extra cash in if it means having it be more reliable). And before you guys say so, yes I've tried looking this stuff up and I get very mixed signals for gear for Minecraft. On Minecraft I would mostly be playing single player or servers with friends if that helps at all. I live in the US as well. And I would have 32G of ram (yes I know I wasted money on it but 4 sticks looks so good). Thanks and please respond :)
  2. I apologize if I came off as rash, I am not experienced in the tech world at all. Maybe next time you respond to someone think of them as someone who doesn't know what they are doing. I promise almost everyone on here is nice. Again, I apologize if I ruined your day with my honest question that "doesn't deserve a thread".
  3. Thanks, I appreciate it. I think I'll go for the 13! Thanks again for providing an answer
  4. I was mostly wondering if it would be good to upgrade now or wait, don't bother responding if you think it doesn't deserve a thread. I just thought you guys were the experts. And I am currently taking calculus and I can say with a fact that choosing a new phone is much harder than the calc
  5. Or should I try to hold out for the iPhone 14?
  6. Hi, I currently have an iPhone 7 from a long time ago. It still works fine but the battery drains very quick and it is starting to act a little slow so I decided it was time for an upgrade. Do you guys think it would be good for me to get the iPhone 13 or 13 pro? Or any other phone recommendations? I won't be going android because I already have a Macbook and AirPods and it just works I guess (still have a windows PC for gaming tho ). With my 7, I got it when it first launched and I got the phone and plan for free each month as long as I use under 1 GB of data and still pay for their expensive Xfinity Wifi. I suppose no one knows any of those deals coming around as well for newer phones? Thanks Again if you took the time to read this!
  7. I just plugged in a 1440p monitor to my 2019 or 2020 (idk) Macbook pro. Now whenever I use the monitor everything is so small and there are big spaces on either side of pages in chrome. I already tried using the scaling thing but whenever I go down to 1080p or even just a little bit lower, the screen gets very very fuzzy. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! P.S. I already tried the optimize for mac and now theres big black bars on either side of my screen!
  8. Also, I tried putting optimize for my Macbook display and now there are black bars on either side of the screen

  10. Thanks for the help! One quick question, do you know if browns still feel as nice as blues even though they dont have the click? Ive been looking at some reviews and they say blues feel the best.
  11. Hi, do you guys know any good thunderbolt 3 docks for a macbook pro? For some ports I'd want a displayport and 3 usb 3's. Thanks
  12. Hi, I am looking to get the Keychron K1 V4 as an upgrade from my macbook pro keyboard. Does anyone who has this keyboard recommend it? Also, do you guys think brown low profile gateron switches are a good option for the switch type? P.S. This would be my first mechanical keyboard Thanks
  13. I haven't really tried a taller keyboard but I like my 2020 (thanks :b) MacBook keyboard quite a bit. I just have two quick questions, 1. do low profile keyboards generally have a lot less key travel? 2. Do you have any opinions on which switch would be better for typing out of cherry mx red, brown, and blue? (I wouldn't be gaming) Thanks
  14. Hi, Im a mechanical keyboard noob. I am thinking about getting my first mechanical keyboard for a better typing experience. I am used to using the keyboard on my 2019 or 2020 (idk) MacBook Pro. I am thinking about getting the Keychron k3 low profile keyboard because it looks light and easy to move around. But my main question in do you guys know if there's anything bad about going low profile? Like horrible key feel/travel? Thanks
  15. Hey, I found this keyboard on kickstarter and it looks really cool. Do you guys think it would be a good first mechanical keyboard for me to get(I would get the cheapest version of this)? Right now I am using a 2019 or 2020 MacBook pro and I am looking for a keyboard that's easy to move around and a better typing experience than my Mac. Thanks! (FYI, I have never used a mechanical keyboard before)
  16. Budget (including currency): no budget as long as its "worth it". Just think of a quality product without an overly expensive cost Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Very very light video editing and just doing it for fun Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey, thanks for clicking on my post. Im going to build a thunderbolt setup for my MacBook Pro. If you guys have any part recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. Im looking for: -Wireless 75% keyboard (switch type doesn't matter at all, I truly don't care) color: white, black, or grey -Comfortable mouse. Im thinking of the Razer basilisk essential because it looks nice to hold. I use a palm grip and if you know a good wireless mouse that would be nice. -Thunderbolt hub. Doesn't need charging but I need one that can fit 1-2 monitors, a mouse, and a keyboard -Nice looking curved monitor. Size 24ish to 27 max for regular and just whatever size for ultra wide. Would help if I could get both regular and wide monitor recommendations. 1080p or 1440p would be good. Refresh rate doesn't matter bc I wont be gaming on it. Thanks! Im not very good at these posts so if you have any questions just let me know!
  17. Hi I have a new MacBook Pro with a dongle that has two usbs and an hdmi. Do you guys think it would work if I was to use another adapter to go from hdmi to the vga on my monitor? Thanks Edit: Would there be a lot of latency? That is my main concern.
  18. Lets say under less than $90 for the mouse, less than $100 for the keyboard and no budget for the usb hub. I just use a relaxed palm grip when Im working.
  19. As long as you wouldn't consider it overpriced, any price is fine. I'm in the US As for the keyboard, a compact keyboard or a 75% keyboard. Any switch, doesn't matter which one. I have medium sized hands and preferably 2-3 side buttons
  20. Hi, thanks for clicking on my post! I am looking for a wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, and usb-c/thunderbolt hub for my macbook pro. I am thinking of doing one of those clean setup things that Linus did a while ago and I'm just looking for some peripheral recommendations. For the keyboard I am looking for something that is wireless, nice to type on, and also cheap. For the mouse, something wireless, comfortable, smooth, and yes again...... cheapish. Lastly for the usb-c/thunderbolt hub Im just looking for something that can connect to the wireless keyboard, mouse, and monitor (HDMI). If you guys and girls have any recommendations for any one of the 3 parts I would greatly appreciate a response. Thanks again!
  21. Hi, I just got quite a bit of money this summer from birthday, mowing lawns, etc. Im planning on doing a $1000ish build with the Ryzen 5 3600x and the 2060 super. I just saw that it was predicted that NVIDIA would be launching their 3000 series late august or September and AMD would be doing their 4000 series late fall. Also, the reason I am hoping to build one is because my current pc broke and is unfixable. Given all of that, what option would you guys recommend I do? 1) I buy the parts now and just build it (back to gaming straight away) 2) Wait for both launches and buy the same parts at hopefully a cheap price 3) Wait for the launches and buy the new parts ^Whatever pc I build I am planning on keeping it for around 3 years if that makes a difference. I could up my budget a little bit also. Finally, thanks for reading this!
