  1. Hi Guys, I'm basically trying to do what Linus did the attached video, have multiple speakers in the ceiling throughout the house and be able to easily cast audio from my phone to individual or multiple speakers at once. My problem with Linus Video is I'd like to stay away from the Sonos device he uses and its just not easily available in my area, also the price. From my research the most cost effective way is to buy a cheap HDMI AV receiver and connect a chromecast. I'd require a receiver and chromecast for each room but I'd be able to pair them into groups using the google home app. My problem with this setup is that the large AV receivers feel way overkill to run a couple of speakers. Has anyone done this before or have a better way? A small low power AV receiver with built in casting would be perfect but I'm yet to find such a device. Thanks for your responses!
  2. Hi, I've just been given an old Vista PC and want to put a lightweight OS on it. All I want to do is use the internet (YouTube) and browse local and network files, mainly video. I've heard chromium is pretty good? Any suggestions would be great Thanks
  3. Not sure what I did.. I have changed the IP address before.. But I majorly changed it and it seems to be working now. I can connect to both the upstairs and downstairs easily.. I don't trust it though So I'll let you know. Thanks HEAPS guys!
  4. Would you happen to know how to do this exactly? haha
  5. Netgear Channel: 36 Mode: Up to 54 MBPS SSID Broadcast is enabled Wireless Isolation is not enabled If you're keen for the downstairs router I'll go downstairs and get that for you too haha but I'd say its pretty much the same
  6. Can't help with the issue sorry. But I have Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 and I'm constantly having issues with it. DON'T get me wrong I LOVE it.. but seem to have quite a few issues from time to time.. Including audio
  7. Hey Guys.. So... I have two routers as you can see in the picture below. I have a Netgear D600 router connected directly to the phone line upstairs, I then have a 30m cable coming from the Netgear router and going to a cheap D-link router which is downstairs(30m away). They are set up as completely different connections. Downstairs my phone will automatically connect however it will show the ! mark next to the signal. After the router is switched off and on again the ! goes away and the router works perfectly. Upstairs the Netgear router is the same story, however you have to pray that it works because turning it off and on does nothing the ! will stay, sometimes disconnecting the D-link router downstairs will fix it, sometimes not. My computer's plugged into either router will work perfectly its just the wireless I have a problem with. Problem is the same on my Nexus 5, Tablet and Laptop.
  8. Hey Guys, I hoping to find someone who knew more about this than me but.. Many ISP's in Australia have been told that they need to hand over customer data without protest when asked by film companies. Do I need to stop pirating Movies, TV Shows and Games? Or is everything still okay like it has been for years? Thanks all replies welcome :)
  9. I completely understand why LMG has started to use vessel and I congratulate them for doing so. However my experience with the platform hasn't been good so far. I live in Australia and have terrible internet speeds compared to you guys in the rest of the world, I can watch Youtube in 720p no problem however I have never been able to watch twitch without the video stopping and having to buffer ever 10 seconds (even in low resolutions) and I'm getting the same experience with Vessel. With no option for resolution settings, just Auto or HD I am forced to leave it on Auto where the video looks terrible (maybe 480p) and having to leave it to buffer for over a minute before I am able to watch 10 seconds of the video before it stops again. As I said before I completely support LMG's choice to use vessel is seems like a great platform however I thought you would appreciate my feedback and I think I'm going to have to stick to YouTube for now. Was also wondering if the WAN show archive will be going up same time as usual on YouTube? Thanks heaps for the AWESOME content guys and keep up the amazing work!!
  10. You guys are the best, nobody does it better.. would love to see more behind the scenes coverage. Keep it up
  11. All fixed with a simple factory reset.. As for ethernet adapters I don't get wireless Internet in my bedroom so might buy another wireless router for it.
