According to LARsystems' database, the RTX 4070 Super gets between 10-13M PPD, but the 3070 gets just 5M PPD? Has there really been a (more than) doubling of PPD in this generation? -

I'm glad to hear that the SpeedShift setting works for you, but if you're not doing anything else heavy duty on the laptop when you're folding, you can save another 10W and still get the same PPD. I'm not sure how important power efficiency is to you, though. My set ups are all optimized towards efficiency. Also, I get 1-1.4M PPD with my GPU reporting 60-70W. My laptop has an i7-10750H with a 1660Ti (90W), almost the same as yours but I've undervolted both the CPU and GPU. I believe if your GPU is boosting fully it should be around 1.8M PPD. Look into undervolting if you're interested in efficiency, it'll help your laptop stay cool and cut the bills by a bit too! -

i) Disable turbo boost instead of playing with speed shift when you're folding, it's easier and provides a lot more thermal headroom ii) A 1660Ti mobile should get 1-1.4M PPD, why do you only get 280k? -

They're doing it for rewards, or at least what they perceive as a reward. Doesn't look like it's going too well, though. https://www.solinscription.com/care-market/ This is the only way to offload the CARE tokens, but they would need a buyer and the buyer would need some utility for the tokens, which ATM doesn't seem to exist. -

Any Shadow PC Pro users here? How much PPD do you get from them, on average? -

Run Folding@home or BOINC and mine Gridcoin/Banano/Curecoin etc., yeah you don't make a lot of money but at least you're doing good and you get some reward for it - and you're not donating (as much) money to the electricity company. -

The blog post says 24 hours remaining and was posted 14 hours ago, but GMT time now is 3PM on the 5th of Dec, is there one more day left? The event page says the event ends at 11:59PM on the 6th of December? -

How much more PPD do the Core23 WUs seem to offer? IIRC Core21 -> Core22 doubled my PPD... -
Yeah, Reddit subs have gone offline for a couple of days or more to protest some API pricing thing. I used the cached version (https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:8cOJOTgXB98J:https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/comments/mc32qp/how_to_automatically_reapply_msi_afterburner/&cd=10&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au&client=firefox-b-d) to see the instructions. Basically, creating a .bat file with the text"C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\MSIAfterburner.exe" -ProfileX where X is the profile you want to load, and using Task Scheduler to run that .bat file at a certain time every day.

Great thread! BOINC Manager's built-in time-of-use scheduler was enough for me, thankfully. Also, I used two batch files and task manager with the setup here - (https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/comments/mc32qp/how_to_automatically_reapply_msi_afterburner/) to turn on and off my custom Afterburner profiles for when it starts and ends computing...

Never mind, a couple of batch files and task scheduler got me what I needed and more!

Is there a way to automatically apply my profile on MSI Afterburner at a certain time of day? I'm using BOINC's built-in scheduler to compute off-peak, but I don't want my laptop to boost my GPU up to 1920Mhz to do the easy MilkyWay@home calculations.

Great work, everyone! Not only did we manage to keep our 3rd place in the Marathon/Obstacle Run like we did in 2021, we also scored 3rd overall! 3 medals (with 1 silver, our highest position in an event so far AFAIK) is a very nice reward for our collective efforts. This was great fun!
