  1. Sooo i just got both of the Monitors. (The Acer one and the LG 27GL850-B). First the Acer: I compared it side by side with my old BenQ monitor and even tho BenQ is a TN panel and the Acer one has a IPS Panel the only really big difference was the brightness. After i someone even out the brightness of both monitors the image looked the same to me. In the default setting the color was preset to "warm". I googled a bit arround for other ppl settings since i cant calibrate the monitor myself. Now the Acer looks a tiny bit better maybe (or i just WANT it to look better?). While playing some Apex yesterday the only thing i noticed was the bigger screen from 24" to 27". Today the LG arrived. It had way more stuff in the package than the Acer. It feeled way more "premium" to me. Now im running the Acer and LG in parallel to compare em side by side. Again the first image looked WAAAAAYYYYY better than on the Acer one but after turning down the brightness from 100% to a reasonable amount of like 50% it was still better than the acer one. I manually changed the monitor to 10bit colors for the LG one without any difference (not sure what i expected). But. BUT! The Acer has 2 stuck pixels. Bot really close to the center. That was it. Its still in my 2 weeks of return window and i cant play with them cause i know it. Even tho i never saw them while playing apex. But then the LG one... First i was WOW! NO dead pixel! i checked every color R,G,B without finding anything. But on black i first saw a single blue pixel on the far right side. I hoped to gently rub it out (didnt worked) or "flash" it away with fast changing of RGB colors -> still there. After finding that one i took a closer look. After 20 pixels that didnt showed clear black i stoped counting. They arnt "full" color like the blue one but its not completly black ether. I uploaded some images showing the backlight bleeding from the LG and Acer. And the other images are of those stuck/dead pixels I cleaned the screen before. MAYBE there is a bit dust aswell but if i sit in front of it i can see that those are bad pixels I cant upload my images.
  2. But the more expensiv LG is worth it? Or should I be fine with the Acer one?
  3. Never thought about that. But it feels odd buying something old after the new version released. I was planning with something arround 500€ with the new card, and tbh the upgrade from 10x series to 20x series feels like decades. But you're probably right. I mean now i set myself to 1440p gaming and not 4k for the next 4-5 years at bare minimum. The 20x series is easily good enough to get 1440p@144 so i could look into that.
  4. And these other options? They probably have the same problems, right? So basically it's a lottery and there's nothing left to do but try. Friends of mine just said that a few years ago it was common that cheap IPS panels broke down much faster. For this reason I ordered the LG as well. And what is the best way to get a second monitor? Preferably the same one again, but that is too expensive for me.
  5. But only because its "damn sexy" is it worth the ~120€ more then e.g. the Acer Nitro? In like 5hrs i should have the Nitro, and maybe in 4 days the LG arrives. But tbh i have no clue what the hell to look at. I tried the UFO test on both of my monitors and i cant find a different expect one is 144Hz and the other is 60Hz. Yes ok both are TN panels but one is from BenQ and the other costed me less than 100€. i have read a lot about backlight bleeding, IPS Glow, blur and stuff. But even if i try i cant see anything of that on both of my monitors. And im sure my benQ is kinda "broken" because if its completly dark, and it shows a dark image its actually not black and i MAYBE see backlight bleeding. But if I only see it in such situations it is maximum with loading screens and it doesn't bother me.
  6. Hey there! I've just came up with the idea of upgrading by monitor setup. Currently im running a BenQ XL2430T and a 10years old, no name, 1080p@60 monitor. The graphics card is a gtx1070 but im planning on upgrading with the new series. The idea for my new setup is to use a deskmount to clean up the desk a bit. I want two monitors that (if possible) look similar enough or atleast should both have a thin frame and 27 inch. Only the main monitor needs to be 144Hz, the 2nd one is fine with 60Hz. I dont actually have a price limit because if i buy to cheap, i gona end up buying twice. The main focus is on games like csgo (competetive yes, but i dont think i ever notice 1ms or 5ms delay), apex, cities skylines and stuff like that. I have already bought 2 different models as possible main monitors: - LG 27GL850-B (508€) - Acer Nitro VG270UP (380€) Other possible monitors i saw: - ViewSonic VX2758 (360€) - Agon AG241QX (428€) - G-MASTER-GB2760HSU (325€) - AOC Gaming CQ27G2U (Curved, 315€, could but that one twice because its that cheap) - Nitro XF272UP (399€, not sure if i notice a different about 300cd/m² or 350cd/m²) They all look the same to me, only the price is different. I bought the Acer and LG for a direct comparison. Does anyone have any experience or have any other good alternatives? And does anyone know a good 2nd monitor that is quite inexpensive?
