  1. Its 5mm thick acrylic. But I dont think it needs to be this thick when its not a structural part. yeah well thats something alright Also, Sorry for the silence guys. I havent had much time to do anything at the moment. Also the painter who wanted to do the case is on vacation now...so yeah... a bit boring at the moment...
  2. Yes the ol' 775 gets even cooler (see what I did) Cant wait to see where this goes! Keep it up buddy. Also; I'd say see if you cant get the EK block for the 750ti
  3. Glad I could. And you can always get some aftermarket LED stripes and slap them on wherever Also, [shameless-plug] you can check out my build log in my sig and see what I have planned with my Phantom [/shameless-plug]
  4. hehe yea I guessed that much no worrys man But I think the cases are fairly similar just different in size and drive bays and such things Basic soldering would be the most you would have to do I think. Anyway I hope I could help
  5. How about Xigmatek. their Talon case has somthing of a stealth-bomber styling like the XFX Stand I would think. Or maybe the Silverstone Raven Sieres:
  6. I'm talking about the IO lights to clarify Other then the 2 IO led's in the front and the 2 led in the back IO there is no other light in the Phantom
  7. yes you can. the two in the back are simply cliped in place. the front ones are clued but it would absolutely be possible to swap them too if you have the aptitude
  8. Yes it does ^^ thou I am gonna paint it in matte black. Not quite a fan of the glossy finish. It is very prone to fingerprints. And yes its got a good amount of features. Many of which are on the 630 as well I think. Here is a pic of all the parts I striped off If you like a big window and a lot of space to work with I think the 630 would be the better choice. Its just a bit bigger and cleaner. I just didn't need all the space that's why I went with the 530 But NZXT is all in all a good choice. really solid cases from what I can tell
  9. I have the NZXT Phantom 530 and this is how much you can disassemble it. The rest is riveted...so yeah. But it is a really cool case nonetheless!
  10. Dankeschön/Thanks a lot I want the end result to be a perfectly matched system where every single part fits right in So this serves me just right The case will have some yellow accents as well.
  11. Haha thanks mate But it might honestly be a good idea actually to find someone who can do it just for the price of just the paint itself. This I haven't really thought of to be honest I will see about that. Otherwise I will just cough up the cost anyway. I want it to be perfect.
  12. Day 5: "Taking baby steps now" So as the title says. I will be taking little steps now. But nevertheless I have done some little mods on the weekend. First off I finished the mobo Tray with some plastic car wrapping foil. first in white and than in matte black. Looks nice and clean. here you go: So obviously after this went so well I looked what else I could mod this way. And I do wanted to mod the RAM Heatspreaders anyway so I tested that out as well: And it does look great at first glance and in the MPower Board it really fits in. But sadly it dosen't went so well in the end. The coating didn't like all the handling. It is a bit prone to impacts and such. Also it just didn't look as perfect as I want it to. So yeah this went back to original which is a nice advantage of this method...but the heatspread covers are gonna get painted. On the notion of Painting. I finally have found a car shop who will do the painting of the case. But after all the money I spend so far I am i bit short of the 150€ they want. Oh well next or even late this month its gonna happen
  13. Day 4: "It's just like Christmas" So yesterday all the main components arrived in one big ass box. Today I took the time to carefully unbox everything and have little gander. Also I couldn't help myself and made a little photo session out of it. These parts a just beautiful! So here you have a bit of new hardware pr0n I certainly had the feeling while doing this Heart of the Workhorse Intel i7 4770K The CPU of choice. I think it will make a nice powerful and versatile center of the Workhorse. (yes I did wear white gloves for this..I am very careful) The Mainboard: MSI Z87 M-Power Quite possibly the most bad-ass mainboard on the market right now. I absolutely love the looks of this one. Graphicscard : MSI GTX 760 HAWK And the graphic card to match the mainboard. Not my first choice (should've been the MSI 770 Lightning) but still a great looking beast. Memory: Corsiar Vengeance Pro Series 16GB These gonna get a tad modded to match the color scheme. The silver parts can easily be taken off. They are not clued just clipped on and so can be easily be painted yellow Powersupply: Corsiar RM-Series 750W This is gonna keep everything nicely powered all while producing almost no noise. Win-Win in my book CPU cooling: NZXT Kraken X60 And this is gonna keep the CPU nice and cool while it's handling my workload. Storage: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB Seagate Barracuda 2TB The top notch Samsung SSD to make the OS and the essential Programs (CS Suite) nice and snappy and the barracuda for scratch and a bit of storage. So yeah these are the parts. I had a lot of fun unboxing all of them and taking the pictures. Hope you like 'em too Now I can't wait to put the Workhorse together. On Monday I have a appointment with a car service shop who may be painting the case and doing some little modifications on the metal parts. Then I am in the last phase of the build.
  14. I will just leave this here for the moment... Full update and maybe little bit of unboxing & stuff coming later Plan for tomorrow is to go and talk to a couple more places to finally paint the damn case so I can start building now ^^
  15. Well its actually "just" a flat milling cutter. But as we can see it does the job nicely. I just made a CAD file for it to read, let the workshop supervisor do some few little adjustments and off it goes. I used 5mm thick acrylic. As for the shoutout..as I said. you gave me the Idea for it and I give credit where credit is due
