  1. Its just confusing because I've already tried a new motherboad and PSU and stil got the issue as well as taking the whole thing out and putting it on a cardboard box. I will get pics up.
  2. I've tried different thermal paste and still got the same problem. I've also gone through multiple surge protectors and outlets. Update: It's happening more often now. Every time I grab my headphones and if I get a static shock on them with my finger, my pc will crash. Literally just happened before typing this message lol.
  3. I bought the cooler master high performace, is what its called
  4. I used aftermarket well repped thermal paste but I'll give your suggestions a try, thank you.
  5. Okay I am at a complete loss as it seems I have tried everything and am still getting issues. Hopefully someone here can provide some insight. Since the very first week I built my pc (4 months old now) I have been getting a weird power cycle type thing where randomly my screens will go black, peripherals will cut out but my pc will stay on. It doesn't reboot or shut off completely though, it just seems like it stalls out, forcing me to hold down the power button to turn it off. Eventually I finally started noticing some patterns to it where I would sit down at my desk and boom "stalls out", or if I plug something into the same outlet/surge protector boom "stalls out", or one time I shocked my monitor with my finger and boom "stalled out". And now I can replicate it every time by plugging and unplugging something into the same surge protector that shares space with my PSU. Keep in mind that I've put monitors on a different surge protector entirely to rule out that as an issue. All this + research got me thinking it was a grounding issue, SO. here's all that I've done and am still getting the same problem. New PSU New GPU New RAM New CPU New MOBO New SATA cables New outlet (my bros PC's runs fine on this outlet so I know its a valid outlet) New monitor (with zero peripherals plugged in to rule out a possible bad cord) New surge protector New HDMI cords Took everything out of my case and put it on a cardboard box (to rule out a possible bad case) Updated drivers/bios Windows clean install All of this and still getting the issue has left me at a COMPLETE loss. The only things I haven't tried are my SSD's as I highly doubt those in itself are the issue. I will mention this though and this is where I just can't stop scratching my head. When I tried a new GPU I got the same problem but in a different way. Instead of my PC "stalling out" where everything goes dark and unresponsive but still on; now with the new GPU the screens will just go black for a second and then come back on resuming everything how it was. This has led me to think its a slight GPU issue but idk why there would still be an issue at all though and they still seem related like some type of grounding/shorting out issue. Please if anybody has any ideas or has seen a problem like this please let me know. I am so fed up with this and am about to just sell the damn thing and start over. Thank you.

  8. Displays work perfectly. Have tried multiple proven cords and different build.
  9. Ya it's super weird. Everything you just stated is correct. The damn thing wont stop revving up and down (like every 5 seconds). UEFI is 100% up to date. It sucks but I may have to even though I'm out of my return window on my gpu and motherboard... I may just go and get a rx590 just to see if it works or not. Hopefully xfx customer service lets me at least exchange it and pay the difference if I do find one that works. Shits hella obnoxious..
  10. It's hard for me to put it all on the GPU when it worked flawlessly when I threw it into my brothers build as well as when I bought a new motherboard. Why do you think that is? It seems to not like micro atx mobos. The rx580 has great reviews as far as I'm concerned and again, I bought a new GPU and tried it with new parts and still get the problem.
  11. Lol my bad, was up all night when I wrote that. I'm getting issues with multiple games though; PubG, Starcraft, MW2, Overwatch, etc. Which has me thinking something else is the issue. If its an amd driver issue then how come you think it worked fine on the ATX ASUS ROG STRIX B450F GAMNG motherboard? That's where I get super hung up. EDIT: It also worked fine in my brothers build. The PSU is: Thermaltake - SMART 700W ATX 80 Plus Power Supply - Black Ps. Keep in mind I've swapped the PSU and still got the problem.
  12. I wasn't sure whether to put this in the GPU thread or the MOBO threads as I have no idea what the problem is at this point but hopefully someone has some insight that I'm not aware of. I'll provide as much info as possible, all specs and footage posted below. Okay let me start from day one. I built my PC about 2 months ago and a few days in it would just restart randomly but not fully restart, the screens would go black and the pc would be unresponsive which would result in me having to hold the power button. This happened under low stress and high stress, didn't seem to matter. Ok so I ignored it hoping it would stop and it did, for about two weeks, and then this is where it got worse. (still not sure if the issues are related) All of the sudden 1 1/2 weeks go I've been having crazy artifacting (I assume it's artifacting) but it has strange behavior. It only happens inside of games and only in the loading screen and lobbies (except for one really old game which is Starcraft 1) This happens in multiple games so I know it has nothing to do with the games, plus I have tried reinstalling them already and even switched them to a new SSD to rule that variable out. I've also changed my SATA cables. At this point my suspicion was saying it was the PSU so I went out and bought a new PSU and it still happened. So now the PSU is ruled out so I wanted to rule out the GPU so I plug my GPU into my brothers build and it works perfectly fine. Now I'm like okayyyyy its gotta be the MOBO at this point so today I go out and buy a new mobo to troubleshoot that out and my dumbass realized I bought an ATX MOBO and I needed a Mini ATX but I thought I'd plug everything in even thought it wont fit in my case just to see if it fixes the problem before having to return the mobo anyway.. and the problem disappeared and I got super stoked. So I think okay it was 100% the mobo let me just go back and get the correct size and we'll call it a day. this is where it gets weird and leaves me at a total loss. So I go buy the correct mobo size (different mobo than my original) AND THE PROBLEM COMES BACK! At this point I'm like wtf so I say F it I'm going to go buy a NEW graphics card to rule out that as its the only thing that hasn't been swapped out. Oh ya and let me mention that I put my brothers GPU into my build to see if I would get the same problem and it worked perfectly fine (he has a NVIDIA). So I go buy a new graphics card (same one as my original) and the problem still occurs. So at this point I have literally swapped out every part for new and different branded parts and am still getting the same problem. The only time I didn't get the problem was when I used my brothers GPU or when I used my GPU with a full size ATX mobo. I have no idea if the size of the mobo matters but there's a strange pattern there. Other weird things that seem to be correlated is that I get intense vram and usage spikes on my GPU during idling like I'll just be chilling on the desktop and its going wild. My GPU usage will spike as high as 100% and then drop back to zero and my vram will bounce between 300mhz and 1000mhz, occasionally upwards of 2000mhz. I can also hear my fans revving up and then dying down, this did not however happen with my brothers GPU or the ATX B460F. Windows has been reinstalled. All bios and drivers have been reinstalled and updated. I have also tried enabling "unified GPU usage monitoring" inside of MSI afterburner. I've also tried allowing more voltage and power % and maxing mhz to my GPU as well as reducing the voltage, power % and mhz and go no difference. I have no idea what to do from here so that's why I'm posting this to hopefully get some sort of insight. Anything is much appreciated.
