  1. maybe they did remove it due to complaints. Complaints of people who never use maps. It is one of very few main things in maps. Is there any wrapper app/website that uses Google Maps API / content and their own map engine?
  2. I tried to google some info and found a "news" article from 2020 stating that google is about to begin showing building numbers soon. Weird, for me it did opposite. Then I found out it didn't show numbers for some countries. Anyway, it doesn't look normal. Maps are made to see information. Not to hide information. By hiding the numbers they making the map less functional significantly.
  3. Desktop web / mobile web / Android app / iOS app - everywhere. This bug started couple years ago. Super annoying. Building numbers don't show up on maps at all. Is there a way to turn them on as it was before? Or google reached peak minimalism and next step in "improvement" of UI is removing buildings and roads? Using another map service is not a solution, none of them has even 1/10th of content that google maps offer in terms of roads, buildings, public transport, stores, reviews. I tried to use Apple Maps but it's useless. OSM also doesn't have data I need. Google maps 3 years ago were totally fine.
  4. Conclusion: HDMI port doesn't work in Asus Zephyrus G14 with 5th generation Ryzen. All you can do is to use USB-C to connect external monitor. Can't use HDMI at all.
  5. Found this video and apparently the HDMI port on Asus Zephyrus G14 just does not work. It isn't software issue, it is hardware problem in Asus G14. I tried USB-C to HDMI adapter and it works. Unfortunately, it occupies the port for me. Would be nice if HDMI worked in my laptop.
  6. Using Asus G14 R7-5800HS, RTX3050. Trying 3 different monitors after first one of them didn't work. 2 different cables. All behave in the same way. Monitor says "no input detected" no matter what you do and which input select on the monitor. Laptop sees the monitor, correct resolution, correct freq, correct model name. Tried to update AMD Graphics drivers, didn't change anything. AMD "Adrenalyne" bullshit just made notification that I connected Freesync monitor and it enabled some freesync thing fro me but rn I'm testing on an old Philips 190V which is not a FreeSync monitor. How can I fix this thing?
  7. using a phone not just for facebook scrolling. Normal catalog of photography that I'm doing, like in many different folders instead of 1 single folder in Photos app; copying some movies/series to watch on the phone when I don't have power and internet connection (happens often in Ukraine because of russian terrorism). Overall using the phone as secondary media device and catalog. BTW, I'm doing photography and it's super inconvenient to store freshly imported photos in 1 single folder on my phone in Photos app. Before, on Android phone, I used to have separate folders for any kind of media: phone photos, downloads, memes, saved media from friends chats (personal photo/video but separately from other media), porn with humans, porn with 3d-printers, evidences of UFO conspiracies, flat Earth videos, landscape photos, city photos, portraits, new photos in separate folder - to select them conveniently when I'm posting it in social, then moving to according category folder so they're not in "new" which means they're posted. It was so simple and convenient. Now I have 1 single folder and all media in it. upd. right now I'm downloading YT videos from my Watch Later list and by default they're .webm. I can not use my Icloud Drive to send/sync to phone. Why do I pay for the iCloud drive? Just to back up my phone? That's all? Can I back it up to my own custom server? No. Do they have a department at Apple where they decide which features to cut off from their products?
  8. I hope they really will implement 3rd-party apps as people say. Yt Vanced, instagram without ads, proper file management and network sharing... Would be great. Yep, and then have no access even to locally cached files when you have no connection. I need to actually save files to the phone storage.
  9. I switched to Iphone couple months ago and not planning to switch back. And still haven't found out a decent way to manage files between devices at home. I understand that there are people who sent 3 files during the life time and all of them were jpgs. They're happy with what they have but pls, no need to tell me how it is enough for you. What I used before on Android is Solid Explorer FTP server. It's 1 tap from control bar and it's running in background. From home network I have access to internal storage of the phone and I can manage files however I want. If I need - I can do opposite - connect to my PC from the phone through SMB. Even though SMB is super unreliable protocol. Currently on iPhone I only have an option to connect from phone to PC with SMB client built-into default file explorer app. And it needs to "disconnect" SMB before every use because for some reason it dies but stays "connected". Also tried to use iCloud but it only works with JPG files. Is there a way to share the internal storage of iPhone within the network and manage files without limitations?
  10. Solution is to switch to Davinci Resolve because it works. But it is inconvenient to use - too much oriented to features I don't use.
  11. Thank you. I tried it and it works. Also tried to play it at 1:1 and it works, but sometimes it stutters so I'm using 1/4 or 1/8. In preview window it looks like garbage anyway, I don't know why. I've noticed that Premiere doesn't use HW acceleration even though it is enabled in settings. It renders everything on CPU and uses around 30% of CPU. Is there a way to solve this? It only utilizes GPU when I'm exporting, but now when I'm scrolling through the video and applying effects. Result is garbage. Color doesn't match what I set and resolution for some reason upscaled from preview window. Source: 4K, output: 480p upscaled to 4K.
  12. I installed HEVC codec "from hardware provider" from the MS Store by the code: ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9n4wgh0z6vhq It seems to work, because the video plays back properly in MPC-HC (from K-Lite pack), unlike before when it was glitchy. But in Premiere it now says "media processing", wait. How can I solve this and work with .mov from Iphone with Premiere Pro? Hardware: R7-5800HS, RTX3050.
  13. Hi. I wanted to process the iphone videos in Premiere Pro but turns out it doesn't support the format. It doesn't tell any errors but it just doesn't play back the videos, it glitches. How do people work with iphone videos in Premiere without re-coding the videos in another format?
  14. it only happens in 1 program in 1 OS. In other programs and other OS it works fine. dude, the issue appears ONLY in Photoshop when you draw.
  15. screen being OLED is just a bonus, I wouldn't trade any hardware for that. Sacrifice HW - no, sacrifice a bit of extra money for OLED as an option - maybe. I'm totally disappointed by Dell. The laptop that I broke was XPS 15. I've had a lot of hardware and drivers problems caused by Dell and those issues were well known to actual users of this laptop. Things like: locking CPU voltage so you can't undervolt; USB to radio freq interferences so you can't use 2.4 GHz wireless mice properly; Killer WiFi driver bugs and other problems. Otherwise I really like that laptop, it has great build quality, much better than any Asus gaming laptop and also it has awesome screen. Also it has a connector for secondary storage but no place for the drive if you use 99 Wh battery. They have an option with smaller battery + SATA slot. Overall, my perfect laptop would be Dell XPS 15/16 with Ryzen, 2 NVMEs and better cooling system. But it just doesn't want to exist.
  16. Hi, pepole. My old laptop suddenly died and I needed new one for work urgently. So I HAD to buy Zephyrus G14 2021 with R7-5800 and RTX3050. It is ok laptop but what it lacks for me is good screen, webcam and 2 NVME slots. It has 1080p 140 Hz screen with super low color accuracy. After switching from 4K at 15" the low pixel density is super noticeable. And it doesn't have a webcam which I need for work (have to use USB camera now but it is super inconvenient and totally not portable). I couldn't buy better laptop at that urgent moment. Maybe there is "people's choice" laptop that you can recommend? Here's what I need in it: 1. 15" 4K with high color accuracy (may be OLED), may be high-refresh but not necessary. 2. AMD R7+ 6th gen + 3. 2 NVME slots. 4. Webcam. 5. RTX3050+ Would be nice also: 6. Left-side USB ports. 7. SDcard-reader. 8. Thin bezels.
  17. This didn't happen before, I think something happened with software in Windows when I moved this SSD from another laptop into new one. But the bug is weird and specific, so I don't know if reinstalling Windows will solve it, and it will for sure cause a lot of issues due to amount of software I'd need to backup and move. Ok, so the brush stutters when I'm using it. PS 23.4.0, tablet is Gaomon S620, laptop is R7-5800HS, RTX3050, 24 GB. There is no problem with hardware for sure - it works fine on the same hardware but other OS with other programs (Sketchbook). Bug happens only when I'm doing something. It doesn't stutter when I'm just moving the pen/cursor.
  18. BTW, I'm having a weird bug of Snipping Tool at another computer. The hotkey works only once. Next times it doesn't do anything. Only on that computer. On any other it works normally - you can make screenshots, but on that computer you have to reboot to make it work again. One-time offer, thanks Microsoft. I'm using FS Capture.
  19. Lets share the experience of using felt mousepads for different cases. Here's picture of what I mean: For some reason, if you google it, it shows photos with horrendous Apple mouse. Which implies that these people hate computers and love gimmicks and inconvenience. Is it really inconvenient to use? Does it work properly with mouse sensor without impact on precision? For example, I want to buy a big mousepad to use with MX Master 3S and laptop. But I don't like how quickly regular mousepads collect the dust and get dirty. I think that this piece of overpriced cloth will collect the dust with the same rate but at least show it less. Could you share any advice about mousepads different from regular "gaming" mousepads?
  20. Thanks to whoever deleted replies and solution. Awesome forum, I'll definitely visit it again.
  21. Yes, solved with re-installing the Windows on external SSD with Windows To Go. Worked perfectly. It is the easy way to overcome Microsoft's limitation of installing Windows on USB devices. Laptop is Asus Zephyrus G14 2021. I tried to change MBR/GPT and switch the modes in UEFI, didn't do shit. The problem is not normal problem of wrong mode or compatibility, it is bug-related. Also, yes, this laptop can't boot from NTFS FS on USB device, found out it somewhere, it's not my opinion. Also I tried to simply format the empty USB stick to FAT32 and NTFS - Boot Menu can see it only if it's in FAT32. Still no solution for the BSOD. Apparently it is ok behavior for this case. On MS pages you can see the list of things that might cause that and one of them is "changing hardware". Might happen due to new way of connecting the SSD, comparing to what it was when I installed Windows. Still don't know how it worked fine earlier on other laptop. BTW, can mention another problem of Windows from similar area. If you stick your old SSD to new laptop without clean re-installing of Windows, some things will break. In my case it is: - random changes of screen color temperature. No, no special software is enabled, that could explain it. It is straight up a bug somewhere in drivers. - fingerprint reader doesn't work. No, installing drivers doesn't make it work. It works perfectly on clean Windows from another SSD. - laptop doesn't sleep. It keeps running with screen off. No setting can change that. To fix all that I'll have to reinstall Windows.
  22. So all hardware works fine. Error only appears when I'm putting NVME SSD from laptop to external M.2-to-USB adapter and trying to boot from it. What I need: install Windows to SSD normally in M.2 slot of laptop (done) -> move SSD to external USB adapter -> boot from it for work (instead of using internal SSD which I'm not using for work and don't want these 2 to interfere). It was working normally before on other laptop, but new laptop doesn't support boot from NTFS drives. So I had to reinstall Windows on SSD with FAT32. Now laptop can see bootable device but Windows can't load - it BSODs on the loading with error: INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE I already tried to fix this problem in other case but nothing worked - windows loader "fix", recreating the loader, changing partition properties. Nothing worked, so I just cloned all partitions from already working SSD to new one and it worked fine. Until now - when I switched to new laptop and it doesn't support boot from NTFS devices. I have 2 options: A. Make laptop see NTFS device and boot from it - then I can use old 256 GB SSD with system that works. B. Fix INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE error on new 512 GB SSD. I have Windows installed on it and it boots only when this SSD is inside of laptop.
  23. Recently bought this as replacement for my broken XPS and trying to continue my work, as I did before - booting from external SSD with normal Windows on it. But this laptop can't see my external SSD (in USB adapter) when it's in NTFS. It can see bootable USB devices only in FAT32. 1. Is there a way to make it work with NTFS device as my previous laptop did? If no, then is there a way to change FS on the drive to FAT32 without formatting everything? I can not copy/format/copy back because it will ruin the bootable Windows installation. Another problem. I took another SSD, installed Windows on it when it was inside of laptop, moved it to USB adapter. Now laptop can see it in Boot Menu. But there's old problem - Windows can't boot - it gets BSOD and error "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE". It can not be fixed by "fixing" or removing and creating boot manager, I tried. 2. Is there real way to fix INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE error? Thanks.
  24. 9560 is older one with 7 generation Intel, So I don't know. But if you want to play games you'll be better with another laptop with mobile RTX3060+ for less money that sticking eGPU to XPS line. You'd be limited in more things than just thunderbolt bandwidth that makes 1060 from your 2070 on the other end of a cable.
