  1. That's good to hear, my main reason for going with the 3900x is for future proofing, my thinking was that while i could keep my 3600 until i notice it holding back, and upgrade then, or I could get the 3900x (which is $150 at microcenter rn) with a solid motherboard and that would stay with me hopefully to the see the end of this pc as a whole. And then I wait until new cards drop or a black friday sale or something and move up to a higher tier card. I also don't plan on moving to 1440 for a while as i upgraded my monitor when i built the pc and am perfectly happy with 1080 for a while, it's just something i know i'll do down the road.
  2. I built it back in November of 2019 coming of a prebuilt from 2013, it's my first build and I plan on using it for around 4 or 5 years before a new build. I do plan to upgrade as necessary but these to upgrades are mainly to get ready for 1440p when I decide to make the switch. I don't need to upgrade it yet, it runs everything I play on ultra settings over 100fps, most games will cap at 144, this is really just looking towards the future, and because I really enjoy messing around with the thing.
  3. Current build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/escorta/saved/#view=jwdmkL My build is great and it gets the job done, 1080p max setting on any games I play and takes anything I throw at it but I've got an urge to push it further. I'm planning on upgrading CPU/MB or GPU soon, and doing whatever I don't do now later down the road. I just can't decide what I want or should do first, I'm thinking the CPU/MB would be the better option and wait until around christmas time to upgrade the GPU but i'd love some input or ideas from the community. for the CPU/MB upgrade I was looking at a R9 3900x paired with an ASUS Prime X570 Pro, my main concerns with both of these upgrades is running out of power. I don't want to trust psu calculators but they seem to say i'd be alright. I've got a 650w 80+gold Corsair RMx in the build, I also don't plan on doing any overclocking, not yet and when the time comes a psu upgrade will be done. For the GPU I was looking at a EVGA RTX 2070s FTW3, I'm also a little concerned about power with this, not a ton but it's definitely on my mind. I was thinking of upgrading the CPU/MB now, and then waiting until some new drops came out, or something big comes, then maybe I could push this up to a 2080s. That made sense in my head but i'm fairly new to this market so i wanted to get opinions or suggestions from elsewhere and see what you all thought about it, any input would be appreciated, thanks!
