Alright ill look into this, biggest thing is I can find a combo for the 2700x and mobo for about $230, whereas the 3600 combo i found is closer to $380

i have an asus rox maximus 8 hero, but from looking at prices and such, wouldn't I be better off getting a 2700x or something new, rather than spending an absurd amount of money on just a cpu instead of a cpu/mobo combo? I'm happy with the GPU, so im just looking to upgrade the CPU

Hey guys! I'm looking to upgrade my rig from an i5 6600k, and want some suggestions! My cpu currently pegs in some games, and it's causing me to crash a lot. I have an RTX 2060, so i know im good on the GPU front. My workload is gaming, mixed with a bit of 3D modeling, and some other things like photoshop. I know the modeling with benefit having more cores, along with some games today also utilizing more cores, but I can't decide on what path to upgrade. Any suggestions would be welcome, even if its not one of the ones mentioned in the title, thank you!
