  1. What if I use an actively converting cable?
  2. Daisy-chaining is supported when the output DP is to Thunderbolt 3, it's been shown before. I'm just wondering if I change the output through the KVM to Thunderbolt 3 if it'll work.
  3. So today I set up my KVM switch to swap between my MacBook and my PC. It works fine with my PC, but if you look online you'll see that daisy-chaining is not supported through DisplayPort Mini, which is how two of my 3 monitors are connected. I called Apple support and they were unable to assist, and I was wondering if anyone had experience with this at all. The online forums all say that daisy-chaining is supported with Thunderbolt 3, but since it's going through a KVM, I'm not sure if doing a DisplayPort to Thunderbolt will work. Does anyone have any insight to this?
  4. I'm trying to make my technological setup minimalistic across the board. I have everything Apple already and my PC is the only thing that stands out. I love it to death but I feel much more comfortable and productive on an Apple product. I've used everything from Android to MacOS and I just feel much more comfortable with Apple products as a whole.
  5. I've tried it and the optimization is kinda cheek ass tbh
  6. I see the argument of Linux and also the purposefulness of Windows. I want to keep both but then again I feel like my setup could be much more compacted and simplified with a singular operations base. For the work I do I'd get much more value out of Mac since I just do mostly video editing, programming, and web-based work. It just feels wrong to leave behind the better gaming ability which is my main concern at this point. I'd also be reducing my need for Linux on a Unix system, that being MacOS. It's a tug-of-war right now for my needs vs my wants.
  7. No offense but if you don't like Apple as a company then it doesn't really help the argument here. I like both platforms and seem to just get more work done on Mac than I do on Windows, though of course I can make a more powerful computer with Windows as the operating system than I can do with a Mac.
  8. In the past few months I've been splitting my load between Mac and Windows and even reducing my load to a single operating system to see which one is better to use. I'm torn between the idea of getting a beefier Mac desktop and ditching my custom build PC or just using the two operating systems in tandem. Edit: I do play games on my Windows desktop, but I'm starting to play a lot less games as I get older so productivity is more important than power for gaming. The ability to use Bootcamp on Mac so I can play the occasional game is much more useful than having a desktop in my opinion. What do you guys think?
