  1. Hi there, good points. Being more mobile is better. But if the workload needs ramping up, will definitely look at a separate desktop and GPU. And thanks on the 2080 point too.
  2. Hi there, Looking to upgrade my laptop with a Quadro K3000m and a i7-4790 for C4D (Redshift & XParticles) and After Effects work mostly.... Shuffling around details about the RTX 2070 and i9 with 8 cores sounds fun... But will I get better render performance with a i7 6core and RTX 2070 or bite the bullet for a RTX 2080 and i9 or so? Anyone who could shed some light on the issue? Much appreciated
  3. Thanks for the heads up... I guess in that case, is it worth having a fairly decent spected laptop and a separate workstation and then use C4D Team render across the machines. That way make the most of each and get a higher specked desktop... Pity about the eGpu situ...
  4. Hi there, I am looking to upgrade from my current laptop (32gb Ram; i7 4970; Quadro k3000 4GB; 1TB SSD) to a newer workstation laptop with hopefully (32/64 gb Ram; i7 or i9 8 core; nvidia 2080/2070 RTX; 2TB SSD) My hope is to have the workstation laptop and then plug this into a an 2080 or 2070 RTX External GPU for when I need to ramp up performance. Hopefully if anyone would or could recommend this as a solution. I run C4D with Redshift and Xparticles along with After Effects and Premiere for video work as a background for the specs. I have used Quadro for the past few years but not sure if I need to or if I get a Quadro RTX 5000 if that would make a difference compared to the TRX 2080s or 2070s. Any ideas?
