  1. Here is the cooler that I use: https://www.arctic.ac/en/Freezer-34-eSports-DUO/ACFRE00060A I don't know which CPU you are using, nor your case dimensions so you will need to validate it will fit .
  2. You can use MSI Afterburner to set a custom fan profile and be sure to allow MSI afterburner to start on launch. This won't stop the fans from spiking at boot up but as soon as MSI afterburner launches, it will calm them down again.
  3. That is the same thing I am thinking. I could spend a lot of time/money trying to figure out all the problems, but not really worth it from a cost perspective.
  4. Thanks for the response. I did remove the battery from the laptop and this didn't change anything. The power connector looks like the following (not the same model, but similar) https://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=21841&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=&scid=scplp21841&sc_intid=21841&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwb6dmsuw7QIVQ77ACh3EHAPiEAQYASABEgKGrPD_BwE I removed it to check for a short and didn't find any. This is why I am thinking something on the main board died.
  5. So my daughter is in her last year of college and finals are coming up. Of course her 4-year old Dell Inspiron 13 decided to stop working. We thought it was the power brick, so we got a universal replacement that had the correct adapter (according to the instructions). Well this didn't fix anything, so I dug deeper. I opened the case and found the power port to be loose, so I fixed that. I then tried to plug the laptop back in and nothing.... So here is where it gets wierd for me... The Dell power brick has a green light that turns on when you plug it in to the wall - normal right? However, when you plug that brick into the laptop, the green light shuts off. I have to unplug the charger from the laptop and the wall, then plug the charger back into the wall before the green light will come on. Unfortunately, the universal power brick does not come with a light, so I couldn't test that behavior with it. Has anybody seen this behavior before? Does that mean the power brick just can't supply enough power or is there a short in the laptop? The laptop itself looks clean with no obvious electrical damage. Any thoughts/suggestions/hints?
  6. Yeah, I don't know. That sales support stopped me from buying the MX series as well until I could do more research which I have not had time to do. I was hoping that folks here knew more. It seems that the sales support guy was clueless - go figure.
  7. I asked Crucial about the DRAM cache on the MX series and I was told it didn't have one. The BX and MX series were virtually the same drive. This was about 3 weeks ago. So not sure whom to believe the Crucial sales support rep or PC Part Picker?
  8. I give up, you guys have give him the wrong information all you want. 25 Megabits per second is NOT equal to 25 Megabytes per second and at 25mbps the downloading of a large file will take a while. It is up to the OP to determine the best speed he can. I am out and frankly I wish I never replied to this thread now.
  9. A Mbps connection is not going to yeild MB/s speeds. I am not sure what you are referring to but there are a lot of articles describing what I am trying to say.
  10. Please be aware that 25Mbps is not the same as 25Mb/s. Mbps is about 1/8 of a MB/s so at 25Mbps you max at about 4 MB/s max download. So plan your large files download accordingly cause they are going to take quite a while on a 25Mbps connection.
  11. In my opinion, I would wait for the new AMD cards and see from there. The 2060 is still a good card to hold you for a few more months.
  12. Can you please provide the specs for the PC? What power supply (or max rating). CPU, Memory...
  13. Hey cool guy this is late for a lot of the members and I am just going to bed myself. I don't have time to go through each one of your questions at this time. However, 16gbs is not overkill but where you should be in my opinion. 32gb is overkill. I do not believe the 1660 super is going to play all those games at high/ultra 60 fps (which is slow by todays 144/240 monitors). However, I do not play those games so I can't really comment on exactly how good a 1660 will be. Also, the question of "how long before you have to upgrade" is always hard to pin down. The 1660 super is 2 generations now with NVidia releasing the 3000 series. AMD will be releasing newer GPUs shortly as well. 6. If any one tried oc these parts , can you please tell me your result ? (With the stock cooling for cpu ) No I have not. 7. I am buying these parts from newegg because there is no local store I can purchase some pc parts from . What is the real price of these parts in US ? I have bought many parts from Newegg in the US and they are usually very good about taking care of their customers. 8. If you are familiar with buying from newegg . If I got a non functioning parts and it is not my fault will the give me my money back or they will replace it only ? I do believe it will depend on what you want to do. I have not had to return a defective part. 9.can these parts work 24/7 without dieing for 1 week ? If you have the proper cooling keeping the parts in check, then it should. 10. I am building this pc my self . Is there any probability it will start a fire if its wires wasn't mounted correctly? I was also a first time builder this year and as long as you watch some good build videos, you should be fine. LTT, JayzTwoCents, Paul's Hardware all have good build guide videos. 11. I heard that I can use a psu as a grounded thing . How does that work ? Should I plug it to the wall and switch it on to work ? The PSUs in the US have a 3 prong plug. The plug itself goes into the wall and the ground should be handled already by the wiring in the home. I am not sure of the electrical codes in your country and this would be something you would have to answer. Lastly, please remember we are all volunteers and try to help where/when we can. I realize you are really wanting to get answers but please have some patience.
  14. PC Part picker can help you determine case compatibility and Noctua also has the specifications on determining your own case compatibility. Are you looking for recommendations for CPU coolers to go into a rack mount case? If so, what size?
  15. Why should we convince you not to get a NH-D15? That seems to be the air cooler that you want and I see no reason in your post to advise otherwise. You aren't asking for an equivalent to save money, or better looks or anything of that nature. BTW, there is an all black version from Noctua as well if you want the non beige version: https://noctua.at/en/nh-d15-chromax-black
  16. Here is a video that will give you a better idea of the PSU size you need:
  17. I would look at replacing the PSU. They do not last forever and will fail eventually. I am not saying rush out and buy one. You can wait for a sale or stock of the PSU you want to come back in stock.
  18. Here is the PSU tier listing -> You can review the higher tier PSUs and see if any of the are avaialble in your price range. As far as "will a 650W work"... We would need to know the rest of the PC components in order to provide better advice.
  19. Don't remember and I am not near my PC right now, working. It is a Corsair 550W semi-modular power supply. It could be a CX550M.
  20. I run a Ryzen 5 3600, 2070 Super, 32GB ram on a 550W PSU. Your system should also work with a 550W as well. It will not hurt anything if you want to use a 650 Watt PSU. I am no PSU expert so I can't really say which one is better than the others. I use a CV550M in my system.
  21. My advice, backup your data you don't want to lose and start looking for a new HDD. Sounds to me like it is starting to fail.
  22. What are examples that look "sexy" to you? Also what do you mean by small? Micro Atx? ITX? small ATX case? Your request is kinda vague...
  23. As others have said check your BIOS setting, clear CMOS and validate. If you are still having issues after making sure the BIOS is setup correctly, I would run memory tests to make sure those DIMMS are working as expected.
  24. Is this a new build? If not, did you replace the old memory or add this kit to the motherboard?
