Mr Acrimony

Not sure if i'm right or wrong for posting here fan controller questions but i saw fans.. So i've been looking at the thermaltake commander FT fan controller. And i'm interested because my case supports 8 fans but my mobo only 6 and splitters are not really my thing and the front touchscreen is nice. I'll cut to the chase. Will i murder my mobo or something if i stick the sensor of the controller behind the motherboard on or very close where the CPU is located ? I can also understand that the temp readings won't be very accurate ? Thanks in advance.
