  1. I heard they have like 20+ shell companies too, I wonder why. The whole thing reeks of a massive scam, they just keep adding more things to do which will never be finished, and the whales keep giving them money. I mean, the game isn't complete yet, need more funds! ^^
  2. The RAM doesn't actually interfere with each other, only the slowest RAM speed will be used.
  3. You definitely should, dual channel is around 20% faster than single channel, on top of having twice the amount of RAM. If I remember right.
  4. Maybe some cable got loose when you were managing them? You could check if that's the case.
  5. It seems like the model of your 1080 has a blower style cooler, so that seems normal to me. My 1070 which is also a blower style goes to the same temperature, also very fast, when playing graphically demanding games. It's not ideal but that temperature is safe for the card.
  6. From reading other threads here, people say it's usually the vram that causes these kinds of artifacts. Maybe someone who knows more will chime in. Hope you get it sorted out!
  7. It does say in the picture that the Performance cap reason is thermal. So it most likely is locking the GPU at the lowest clocks it can because of overheating. What is your laptop's brand / model?
  8. I would guess it's the graphics card but I'm not an expert. Do you have a dedicated graphics card or only an igpu in your laptop?
  9. This isn't really helpful but going from 2133 to 2400MHz isn't going to affect you much at all, like 1-2% at most. It doesn't really matter. Atleast this is what I've seen in benchmarks.
  10. Just grow a beard and be bald. Maybe lift some weights. Profit.
  11. I don't think LTT has any control over what's happening anymore; "the parcel has been scanned in terminal". So it sounds like it's on it's way to you. Pretty slow yeah, but I guess there's covid and all.
  12. What if the motherboard itself is faulty? If the x500 series should support the CPU out of the box, and it doesn't, it seems that there might be something wrong with the mobo itself. Or am I wrong?
  13. Yeah, it is kind of overkill for games right now. That's true. But it might not be in 5 years time, if it was still your intention to future-proof the machine you're building, and only change the GPU in the middle. Then again, trying to "future-proof" any machine is a fools errand in the sense that nobody knows what leaps and bounds might happen in the future. I don't think the 5800x is a bad choice as far as performance itself goes, just that it's price / performance ratio leaves a lot to be desired. For the GPU's, what resolution monitor are you using? Both of those you listed would work well with 1080p, I guess with 1440p too. The nvidia one has more features as you might know.
  14. I read the other thread you posted, I would still consider the 5900x if I were you, the 5800x really is priced kind of bad compared to its value. You get 4 more cores for a hundred bucks with the 5900x. That sounds fantastic if you are thinking of using the system for a long time. I would personally go with that. Then again, money is money.
  15. My blower style 1070 also idles around 43. I think it's normal.
  16. I think you might need new RAM too if you want to upgrade to anything recent. DDR3 is pretty ancient at this point . A good bang for the buck CPU could be for example an intel 11400, you didn't mention your budget though? I don't know if buying a couple of years old hardware is actually cost efficient, if you're buying new.
  17. I'd wager to say it's a hardware issue, if you have already reinstalled windows and the lines still persist. Nothing much more you can do than to RMA the card, if it still has warranty left.
  18. Could you be more specific what exactly is the problem?
  19. I wouldn't pay 350e for what amounts to, like you said, a few percent improvement. And your GPU is kind of weak too. Though I wouldn't pay that much even if I had like a 3070/3080.
  20. Yeah it's bad. But if it's 32GB I would guess it's dual channel. Considering the market situation it's not the worst possible deal you could get but I'd still suggest looking around for better offers. The GPU and low amount of SSD space are the weakest links as you probably know.
