  1. Long story, but as a side project im building a PC that runs windows XP by frankensteining together parts I have from friends and my old PCs. Basically though, I try to boot to windows XP, but unfortunately it will show the loading screen and after a bit it will show a bsod for a fraction of a second (see attached image) and reboot, I then can select to boot in safe mode (with networking or command prompt) or to boot normally or use last known good configuration. I don't have a Windows XP installation cd (although I do have a Windows 2000 pro upgrade CD and would be fine with using it), and I may buy one later, but from what it looks like my best bet would be to use one to do a clean reset of windows xp. If anybody can confirm that or give me another thing to try first, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, before I buy an installation disk, would it be possible to burn a CD to have the installer on it, and if any of you know a website where I could do that for free, please also let me know that as well. Also I can take a video if you feel that it would give you any more information.
